No, they haven't said anything like that. Really there hasn't been much official said.

I know the scene with her speaking roll was changed so that Rainbow Dash no longer addresses her as Derpy and Derpy's voice was changed. Still I think the fans will continue to call her Derpy whether or not Hasbro changes it or not. I just don't think she'll ever have another speaking roll again.

We did get a bit of an update as of recently. It was somethin from the GAWKER article however GAWKER tends to make fun of Bronies....so not 100% sure how legit it is.

The Brony community scares me. Dead serious.
I'm a huge fan of the show as I've always generally been a fan of children's shows done well...
But death threats? Bomb threats?

There's something about the whole "anon" community that just bothers me.
The bronies doing this are most likely a combination of the two.

I for one, as somebody with mild mental disabilities, absolutely love Derpy and seeing a character like that interacting ((Even if it was in a silly negative way...albiet charming.)) with a main character on the show meant quite a bit.
Hiding the character really does nothing to promote awareness - Which honestly I think they should use Derpy for.
A character to build awareness and acceptance towards those with mental disorders of some sort.

However; People get offended over anything. Even stuff with good intentions.

I think you mean just the insane bronies. There are good bronies like you and I that are sane and would never send such horrible things to the writers.

I agree on your points with Derpy. I've got many friends with disabilities and my mother is disabled too. We loved her as she was.
