She's an optional boss, you just walk down the ramp and keep going down the hallway instead of engaging her. She can definitely be a pain, but if you get the mechanics down and everyone knows what they're doing it's much better than how it was at the beginning of the expansion.

I've lost my voice, it hurts to even try and talk...but I really need to call the insurance company today to get coverage on our new car and take the old off.

So, things with that guy are going well. Sort of. I mean, we both really like each other, we get along really well, we have fun together (read as you will)... Now, we've come up with a term.. the "buts".. some of mine are just my general damage, and the anxiety and stuff that comes along with it. He told me one of his the other night.. and it's KIND of huge. It's something he's still not entirely sure about, but he THINKS he might be. He definitely agrees with the philosophies behind it. And.. I'm not sure what I think. We haven't had an opportunity to talk about it since the night he brought it up, he's coming over tomorrow, right after class, so we'll have a nice chunk of time to talk about this, and other things, and do other things too. But it's hard having all these thoughts in my head and not knowing what to think about them. I mean.. I see some positives. I really do. But I'd also have some things which might be considered huge, or even deal breaking, limitations that, at the moment at least, I'd require (though maybe some I might be able to compromise a bit on as I learn more, and see how things go). I just really don't know what to think. I even ran though my jerk-o-lantern processes on the topic. What's the worst case? What happens if that actually happens? And it wasn't THAT bad of an outcome. Not really at all, not necessarily HAPPY, but not BAD given how the rest of my life has been. The only thing is I just realized that I forgot to factor in the probability of it happening. Of which I was told "it MIGHT not be an issue, but I wouldn't rely on that". I've made several diary entries already, but they haven't really helped too much. They've helped ensure that I won't forget any of the points that will eventually need to be talked about... But it's hard making it through til tomorrow when I can talk with him about it.

The thing is, we both really like each other. We both WANT to try and figure this out. We've both said we will figure this out. Granted, it hasn't been too long since we started seeing each other, but we've been talking for maybe over a month now, and hanging out for a bit less than that. A week of which was spent up in a cottage together (with a few other people). I guess I'm just not sure what to do or think. I mean.. I WANT to at least keep feeling it out for a little while longer. It's good, there's nothing else waiting for me, so why the hell not let myself keep feeling good. But I'm also scared. Even though the worst case isn't that bad. At least he's really big on communication and talking. Hopefully some of this can be figured out tomorrow.. HOPEFULLY in a positive way.

I've been a bit vague on the issue because it's something that I'm not sure how I actually feel about it, and I don't want to have my newly developing opinion biased by people (it's hard not to stay biased to preconceived notions myself). If anyone feels they might know what I'm talking about, and/or feels that they are willing/able to give some unbiased ... maybe not aid, but.. and unbiased ear to help me sort through some of these things in my head... I could probably use it. Feel free to send PMs.

Do you use DBM (Deadly Boss Mods), cow? I'd highly recommend it, it'll give you a warning buzzer when you need to step out of the beam.

Another thing about Corehounds why does there have to be one that looks nothing like the others? How can I put that in my Corehound baby picture without it looking really out of place? It just does not fit! Might have to make a Misc pic with all these oddones out.

Nooo...90 is WAY too close and more often than not, you'll hit 100 immediately cause the stacks add up fast. Silly cow. DBM is definitely helpful cause its like "80 STACKS! GTFO NOW!" with loud noises.

I usually jump out between 70-80 stacks, its a pretty easy fight if you have your timing down.

have a bug right now, its really annoying, first the BF was sick and I had to look after him, then the kidlett is getting more and more independant. I am teaching her how to was her hands in the sink. I just hope that I wont have to hound my BF to also stick with this newest development. Anyhow, this bug is nasty!! Feels like I've swallowed a whole bunch of hot embers and they got stuck in my throat/chest. Feeling really tired, but laying down or sitting up makes the world sway, so I am half-propped on the couch with my laptop, which hasn't been kept up to date with wow stuff...Not a happy Makoes.

lotta use of the F word in this.

so. my stepdad actually had the balls to bitch that my fucking picture of a bear didnt look like a bear. i drew it in my pic for my bear exhibit for my project. im so fucking sorry i cant draw a bear to your fucking liking. im sorry im redoing everything ive drawn to make it look more uniform. im so fucking sorry that i am not spending as much time on the animals as you think i should be when its the fucking exhibits im being graded on and that im only drawing the animals in there to help show what the exhibits going to house.

but guess what? your not the one grading me. im also not being graded for artistic skill. not everyone can draw but they still have to draw out their zoo if they want to pass the course. hes not looking for a masterpiece, hes looking to see how i grasp the concept of creating the layout since its essential if i ever one day want to create a building of my own or renovate an existing building. im so fucking sorry i am meeting someone elses standards then your own. so, so, fucking sorry.

i should just tear it all up and go to fucking art school to learn how to draw a fucking animal that doesnt even need to be in the fucking picture and then complete the project to recieve my certificate (completelu sarcastic btw, im very satisfied with my bear exhibit and my bear drawings and im redrawing everything to clean them up clutterwise since i was adding waaaayy too much in the drawing and it looked very messy).

Have you ever been introduced to a situation, and thought you were making relatively good progress on your personal thoughts about it... And then find out you might be thrown into it WAAAY before you're ready to handle it?

Have you ever thought you had everything worked out in your head about what you might think about a situation, and it's not even that bad... It's something you could work with... But your brain keeps nagging you over something you can't even put into thoughts or words.

The logic side of my brain tells me I should be okay right now. More than that, that I should be HAPPY. But I'm just not okay. I don't know wtf to do at this moment.

I never asked for prayer before. But....I need them now.....more than ever to whatever gods/goddesses you worship in your hearts. Some higher power....I need them. My mom's health has declined, moreso since I left home. She suffers from stage two emphysema (caused by smoking). She has had three colonascapies and four endoscopies in the last year and she has a rare digestive track disease. I'm so scared. She's my mom and I don't wanna lose her. Not yet....

why can we not just get sick at the same time and get it over with? First my BF got this nasty bug that laid him flat for 3 days, and is still lingering a week later, I got it 4 days after him and am still in its grasp, but am nearing the end of it, and now our daughter spent the night coughing, and she's got a fever, and spent pretty much half the day jsut laying on my chest sniffeling and coughing and looking so miserable...She;s almost 2rs old, this is the first major bug she's ever gotten. I cant help but worry about her, and I just hope I am doing all the right things for her.

Crit happens. ;)

If you ever want to get anywhere you'll have to get used to it. You'll get it from viewers, teachers, commissioners, and to not handle it well is to 1) lose potential customers 2) lose potential fans 3) lose the support of your peers and instructors. And trust me, it's just as irritating to get it when you can't handle it as it is to be the person taking time out of their day to offer to help you. No better way to waste your time than to give someone a critique (it's a lot more help to have the flaws of your work pointed out and grow from that than it is to surround yourself with people who feed you undeserved compliments) and have them refuse to learn from it.

By taking critiques and learning from them I went from this and this (LOL look at the far back leg) to this, this, and this. And those are just sketches.

Don't get all QQemo about it, go learn. Draw from references, too.

My turn to EDIT c:

But seriously. Don't apologize to me or anyone else, it doesn't affect us. You're only hurting yourself by refusing to improve. Some crits are harsh; they're not intended to specifically hurt your feelings so let it go and move on. You can rant all you want, but it needs to be said: You need to learn to accept the help you'll get from critiques, even if they hurt your feelings and make you feel like you should never pick up another pencil. I had an instructor in college who tore my ego to shreds, and it was the most helpful thing anyone has ever done.

But if you really want this to be a rant thread and not something that should be encouraging, then fine: It irks me like nothing else when I offer to help someone get better at drawing, or if I see anyone else offer the same help, only to get turned down because so many young, hardly-developed artists think they have this untouchable ego and are perfect at everything, rather than sitting down and dedicating their time and effort to actually IMPROVE and get somewhere. If you applied to an art college right now and got accepted (which at this point, honestly you probably wouldn't, not to be nasty but the truth needs to be said) you wouldn't last long. The classes are structured to get all the students a lot of critique--not just from professors, but from all your classmates. It's a REQUIREMENT. Do you ever want to be able to consider yourself a professional? Do you ever want to be taken seriously by other serious artists?

I'm out to turn this into a career, so what I'm saying has been learned from experience. I've been at an art school for two and a half years, and it's rough. Your feelings get hurt, sometimes you want to quit, but all you can do is take every blow in stride and try to get better and prove everyone wrong. On top of that, there will always be people who make your art look like a kindergarten scribble. Learn from them. Get in contact, ask them how they do what they do. They'll tell you they practice, draw from reference, and did a ton of gesture drawings. Do that. Look at tutorials, and learn from them. Quit trying to be untouchable and perfect, it's only going to hold you back.

Go through and find images that inspire you and save them in a folder. Look through them as reference, too. Don't try to replicate exactly what you see, that's stealing, big no-no, I'm sure you're aware. But try to pick up on the techniques. If you like how a certain artist draws noses, save a bunch of images and try to replicate the noses. Same with hands, feet, eyes, ears, whatever. But even while you do that, draw from life. Use photo references.

Don't chase off the help people offer you. Which brings me to: I'm willing to discuss things further, I'll throw up my DA link and you can get a hold of me there if you actually care. I'm really just expecting to get nagged at though for not just letting it go. My bad for wanting people to better themselves, right?
