Which is the most unique pet?

Unread post by joepesci »

Which is the most unique (one of a kind, not used for any other creature) pet in the game, according to the criteria listed below:

- unique bone model (example: the ironbound protodrake and the corrupted firehawk use the same bone model, though they look completely different. It's not a pet, but this example came to my mind right now.)
- unique character model (example: Chromaggus and a normal Core Hound use the same bone model, but they have different character models)
- unique skin (example: young stranglethorn tiger and young panther use the same bone model, the same character model but have different skins)
- unique color (example: echeyakee and the rake use the same bone model, the same character model, the same skin (no different pattern) but have different colors)

So is there a pet, which is one of a kind according to the conditions listed above? I guess not...
Which one comes closest to being really unique? Chromaggus and Loque'nahak? They share only the bones.

There is no tameable pet that has a completely unique bone structure, there are always others from the family that use the same one. I would say Demon Dogs perhaps come close, they have a pretty unique model in the fact that it's not really used by any other creatures aside from the fire hounds. I used to admire them before they were tameable because they weren't just another wolf animation. Again, that could be said of many families though. There just isn't a pet that has a skeleton completely unique that isn't shared by other members of its family.

For models I'd say Chromaggus, The Kurken, Sambas, Arcturis, Loque'nahak, Terrorpene, Ghamoo-ra, and perhaps even a Seagull.

Skins and colour is pretty varied, there are many types out there that are only used on one creature. (Hell-Hoot, Winna's Kitten, Nuramoc, etc) You could also try for some of the appearance or buff tames to put an extra effect on the pet.

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to figure out overall. For unique in terms of appearance you're probably best looking at high level rares and spirit beasts since they're more or less created specially to look different from other beasts in their family, but they certainly won't be unique by being hard to find since many if not most hunters own them.

If any of them I'd guess the lowly seagull, as Veph suggested. I'm not certain it uses an animation skeleton that isn't used by any other pet, but it wouldn't surprise me if it did.

Doesn't Loque use a unique skeleton being the only Leopard in the game. I could be, and probably am wrong (lol), but I thought he had a completely unique posture than any other cat model out there...

By that criteria, I'd have to say the seagull. I don't think it shares a skin, skeleton, model, or color with any tameable creature. There is the mini-pet and I think the raven critters share the basic skeleton, but as far as "can be tamed", I think its pretty unique.

Not unique in bone structure/movement but it's the only one with a gaping hole in its head.
