I just seem so restless when it comes to pets! Here I thought I was finally happy with my five stable slots, but now I find myself missing one that of whom I said, "I like him but don't love him". Yes, Loque'nahak. It's this odd tugging at my hunter's heart. I flew around a couple times tonight looking for him but didn't find him, and honestly felt sad. I don't even know what I'd do if I did find him! I have Apollyon (King Krush - not going anywhere), Tetsusaiga (Echeyakee - not going anywhere), Rainey (Strider Clutchmother - here to stay), Shikon (Gondria...hmm) and Sheldon (turtle...hmm). Out of all those the only two I could even think of releasing are Shikon and Sheldon. But I love Shikon! She's so bright and pretty and and and.....but I dunno. I miss my old buddy. I suppose, as much as I'd hate to do it, that I could release Sheldon for the umpteenth time since he's the easiest to re-tame. But do I really want or need FIVE ferocity pets? My only other option would be to release Shikon and go get my old spirit beast back.

Or, am I just being a wishy-washy nitwit? Should I wait for the stable slot expansion and look for him then? Ugh, I just don't know what to do. I logged out in Sholazar tonight, figuring I'd look for him again right away tomorrow when I log on.

I really don't want to release Shikon. I think Sheldon would be the one to be released back to his ocean to take a swim for a little while again (but then I'd start missing my old friend and have to release something...and the cycle continues).

Regarding your dilemma, I felt the exact same way when I released Fleck (Loque'nahak) the first time, nah I don't use em much, not really attached to him... kid you not next day I spent four hours & got Fleck back.

What I've considered, which I think perhaps others are too is this:
Come Cataclysm which of the pets you currently have will be extinct?

They mention of mostly revamping old world zones, implying Sheldon lands...meaning that Loque'nahak may always be roaming Sholazar looking for a loving owner, again I really wish we got a template of exactly what skins will be Extinct instead of a:
-logs on
-shy'rotam is extinct

To be honest I'm not surprised you miss Loque. Even when I contemplated for a moment of letting him go once I realized how much I would regret doing it. He's just so unique and beautiful, and I think for a lot of hunters once you catch him you can't help but think about him.

I don't think you should let go of Shikon though. Reading your post about finding her just sounded so sincere and happy that I believe you truly love that cat.

In my opinion I would let Sheldon take a little vacation. Send him off to the Tanaris beach perhaps and pick him up in a few months for Cataclysm. I know having 5 Ferocity pets seems silly, but that's what I ended up with as well. You shouldn't really *need* a Tenacity pet at this stage, as a level 80. As you said you can easily retame him later, and I think you'll get more enjoyment having Loque now rather than waiting.

I think Sheldon would be safe in Cataclysm - he's the gray turtle from Dustwallow Marsh (Sparkleshell?). But I KNOW Gondria will still be there, since it sounds like they're leaving Outlands and Northrend alone. But, I wuv my pretty purple kitty. *insterts emoticon of me pulling my hair out*

Tilo, you did this with Skoll, too, didn't you? I've been seeing other hunters here and there with Loque'nahak and every time I'm like, "oof!". It pains me a little to see him with someone else.

I logged on this morning before work to check and he still wasn't there. I'm not too terribly concerned, I know if I spend enough time looking I'll eventually find him, it's just a matter of time. /sigh

I suppose you're right, Veph. I can't imagine Blizz will wipe the gray turtles from existence, and he's such an understanding old dude that he probably wouldn't mind if I had him take a little break for a while (again). That and I really don't need a tenacity pet for anything...unless I'm helping a lowbie friend with an elite quest. And I have used him to tank Chillmaw, too. Argh!

Edit: And I think part of the reason I didn't feel as attached to him the first time was because my husband found him, not me, and it was sort of an on-a-whim tame; and secondly, I didn't really think of a name for him, just gave him some name that after a while I didn't really like. I'm odd in that I like to hunt for a creature to be my friend, not just stumble upon them. For some reason, looking for them makes me feel more "bonded" to them when I finally do find them. I'm really hoping to see him by the gorillas again where I both tamed him (the first time) and released him. That would just make it so awesome. But, I'll obviously tame him no matter where I see him.

Yep I sure did, & 16hrs later I got him back; 4hrs for Loque'nahak.

Sitting on all ferocity pets myself, & soloing H-Mgt with Yoshi isn't too bad.

I dont think your crazy at all With Cataclysm there will still be turtles..but if you ignore that nagging feeling in your gut it will haunt you...trust me I know.. Anyways Loque and you will bond it always happens...maybe not as well as you'd like but you'll bond..no offense but I'm the same way with Shinigami my Gondira..I like her and we bonded well enough..but I prefir Tens over her..its just the way I feel <3 /much hugs

I really can sympathize. I'm so torn with what do to with my own stables right now. I missed my stupid, giant, in-the-way-of-everything rhino so much I released my armored boar. Now, I wonder if I was right. What if the armored boars go extinct? And I miss my boar!
Probably, everything will be fine...but...
My advice? Keep Gondria! You love her. If you release her, it'll be like your current problem with Loque, judging from what you've said. And for the other two...well, how much will you miss Sheldon, knowing that soon you can both him and Loque and room for all the pets you know and love? Grey turtles won't go extinct. How much do you miss Loque? Keep/tame whoever you miss/would miss more and don't worry about it. Soon, you can have them both. And the rebonding issue...yeah, I'm really neurotic about that too. Just say it's a different cat, if that helps. And randomly finding a rare...serendipity, it was meant to be. It's a matter of perspective.

Oh I'm not worried about the rebonding issue. If anything I'll like him even more once I find him again. I like to imagine he's out there somewhere, waiting for me to find him, and I'm searching far and wide to find a friend I...left behind. He's definitely not a different cat, he's the one I let go and then realized the err of my ways, and have to have back.

I know you guys are right about keeping Shikon, too. I don't even think I'd be able to press that "abandon" and if for some reason I did, I'd regret it immediately. She's here to stay. Looks like Sheldon's going to take a temporary retirement out on the beach. He'll be alright, he's got all of his old buddies around. Maybe they'll play shuffleboard and drink some pina coladas.

I'm getting excited now. I hope I find him this weekend!

Ah, yes! It is quite a bit brighter there than gloomy ol' Dustwallow Marsh. Sheldon can't quite fit in beach chairs, ya know, cumbersome shell and all, but I think he'll manage.

Honestly, just further echoing what everyone has said. Yes you love cute Mr Sheldon. But ............ being the turtle he is he probably will seriously enjoy being beach side. I picture him on his beach blanket, sunglasses on drinking a banana daiquiri. (I've heard those huge torts/turtles love bananas).

Hope you get Loque soon. I've never seen him. Not in the wild or tamed. When I do however I have this feeling he'll really wow me and will completely tug my heart strings. Then like you I'll being going through the tough decisions. You'll get him.

Hehe, the first thing I did after I tamed Loque was to go to Zul Drak the next day and do pretty much all of the quest chains. Not only to level him up, but also because I had left a lot of them incompleted and had never gone back. Going through that zone and especially doing the Harkoa/loa chains really makes you appreciate him all the more. At least, it did for me. ^^

Well, I saw another hunter with him today, and asked when he got him. So, he took me to the location and when I asked when he got him (not where), here was his reply. I think he knew very little English. I know he was only trying to help but that was a little frustrating. I thanked him anyway of course but I really have no idea what he was trying to say. So at this point all I can do is keep circling.

I've been here since about 8:00, minus a food break and one heroic run, and haven't seen him. Btw I talked to that one hunter again later using a French translator online and found out he's had Loque a while, and said he thinks it's as 9 hour respawn timer. That was an adventure, trying to translate a conversation. He was nice about it though. :3

9hr? It's gotta be at least 5-6... I say this because I saw him spawn at least 3-4 times in my 19hrs in the basin waiting on Krush 10hr actually there; one of those was a tame by me, one was a kill, not sure about the rest. 11:45pm queue up - 12:06am back in the basin - 12:30a back in the basin -
