Re: Will there ever be gnome hunters?
Well personally I think gnomes''d work better fired from chuck launchers, but if it makes someone's day then I'll /sign - gnomes for hunterizing!

Re: WTB Gnome Hunter's for Pandaria
Gnomes shouldn't be hunters, it just doesn't fit. They shouldn't be Monks either imo.
And really, when it comes right down to it, they don't actually fit any of the classes within the game.

Re: WTB Gnome Hunter's for Pandaria
Well, to be honest, for me it isn't that I hate Gnomes. I don't love them mind you, but I can't say I hate them.
For me, they just simply and genuinely do not fit any single one of the classes. If ANY, it would be Death Knight, and that is PURELY because the Lich King raised the dead, and I would imagine there were Gnomes among them at some point or another. Just as I would think there would be Murloc, Kobold, Ogre, Furbolgs, Gnolls, and so forth that at some point were probably raised from teh dead to serve the LK also.
I just honestly don't think Gnomes work for any of the currently known classes. It really does feel like Gnomes were made playable just because they couldn't come up with anything else that suited the purpose at the time. Heck, there are plenty of classes I don't think fit the other races either, but the Gnomes just don't cut any of em IMO

Re: WTB Gnome Hunter's for Pandaria
If I had to pick one trait to define gnomes, it would be that they are very, very, very, Very curious. This, plus their small stature, gives them a natural inclination to sneak around: rogues. It also leads to them seeking out esoteric knowledge: engineering, magic for mages, things-man-was-not-meant-to-know for warlocks.
I'll admit warriors seem an odd choice, but I used to be in a guild that had an excellent gnome tank, and the oddity of it helped make it feel right: extra heroic somehow.
I think the real tragedy is the two-dimensional portrayal of them by Blizzard. They could have done so much more, and I was hoping that the battle for Gnomer would do that, but they mostly made it silly.

Re: WTB Gnome Hunter's for Pandaria
Got nothin to do with hate. I love gnomes.
They fit okay with mage and rogue. But other things? Not so much. Gnomes are intellectuals and their interests go towards machines. Well....to be a hunter, you need to be interested in animals and nature......

^ Truth ^ A gnome should be able to be anything(except druids/shamans) because whats to say that a gnome may not break the mold and like animals? A gnome may enjoy hunting things or taking a companion beside them. They're curious about everything so naturally they'd dabble in just about anything their little hands could get into. Besides if a tauren can be a paladin a gnome can be a hunter.

True? Who says they can't be a scientist interested in the ecosystem, or a certain species of animal, or pack-dynamics?

They'd be more interested in...cutting them open and stuff I think rather than actually training them....

Re: WTB Gnome Hunter's for Pandaria
I never really go the impression Gnomes were like that at all. They're inquisitive, intelligent, but not destructive by nature. The whole Gnomereagan thing was just a huge accident and I don't think they've had anything like that happen again.
For all their size, they're tough, smart, and brave. Look at the ones out in Blade's Edge and such. I don't see it being a huge stretch that one would be interested in Nature and animals enough to want to work with them and train them. Gnomes are highly intelligent, enough to know you can't learn even half of everything about something just by hacking it up.

I'm going to have to disagree with you here. Having a gnome druid would be AWESOMENESS x infinity! Miniature bears, kitties, owlkins, and broccoli sprouts ftw!Vulpixen wrote:^ Truth ^ A gnome should be able to be anything(except druids/shamans) because whats to say that a gnome may not break the mold and like animals? Or even more interesteder in training a pet in order to then open and cut animalsJessibelle wrote:They'd be more interested in...cutting them open and stuff I think rather than actually training them....
I'm just saying mainly either give Gnomes hunters to balance out the classes (and then all classes can be hunters, think warriors for blood elfs)
Or then make Gnomes become pallies to balance out the pally/shaman inbalance (3 ally pally, 2 ally shaman - 4 horde shaman, 2 horde pally) and it would bump gnomes to tied with the lowest amount of classes to choose from.
I honestly dont get why theres speciesism against gnomes for a game. There is so much hate out there on the official forums for gnomes thats unjust that confuses me. Granted no one is really hurt by this besides the hardcore Gnome RP'ers, but it still boggles' my mind.

Re: WTB Gnome Hunter's for Pandaria
I don't either. Hate for any race kind of confuses me in a game.
