I don't really consider it 'insane'. Insane would be more like how Malygos was. He was driven into madness, to the point his speech became repetitive(only seen in the books. I was pissed the game didn't bring it over cause it kinda killed his personality a bit). I just see it as a grievance. She's witnessing her entire family get slaughtered when she did nothing to provoke the attack. I'd be angry and distressed too.

Arthas actually wasn't much of an icon. Neither was Illidan. No one really knew who the hell they were deeply unless they played Warcraft long before WoW's time. And neither of them are loved as much as Jaina is. Most people I know were happy to kill off Arthas, even those that did play the Warcraft games.

And unless you, again, played the warcraft games or read the lore on wowpedia, most had no clue who Deathwing was or why he was bad. He wasn't loved by any means either.

I know alot of people who really like Arthas. Icons are more in the eye of the beholder than anything else. I consider Arthas an icon to the games so do alot of people I know.

That does not mean other characters are not big icons Or that she wont be killed off.

I seem to recall reading some where that part of the MoP per-event was going to start with the horde raising Theramore to the ground. I want to say it was some where from last years blizz.con so "PLEASE" don't quote me on it.

Now this is going off on my own line of thought, based on those screen shot and that bit of info.
The pirate and ships could be part of a ploy for the alliance. If I wanted to raid any city like Org or Bilgewater Port then I'd use Theramore as a staging point to launch my attack. I'd rather use captured pirate vesicles then my own, so they could take the blame. As for the Horde ship I can see it being a Trojan horse.
Just a guess of the scenario that the horde ship loaded with troops sails into Bilgewater with the pirate ships in chase. One its docked the troops deploy and start ransacking the town. Mean while the pirate ships take to ranged attacks.
Please note I choose Bilgwater for three reasons.
The first is its a minor quest hub. Aside from a few quest I've never really gone out there for any real reasons.
The second is that big gun they have. The one that is reported to be aimed at Stormwind. This would be a prime target for me to take out if I was thinking of attacking Org later.
Third its at sea and would make a great set for an epic battle. Think of the end of the quest chain for Booty Bay when the pirates come into the bay and start ransacking the place.

On a return to Theramore the alliance players may find horde retaliation in full swing. They could then make a retreat to Jaina's tower (saving towns people on the way) where a defensive bubble is up. Jaina porting the entire tower out at the last second would be interesting.

Now I do see several things wrong with this. The main thing is that Jaina and Thrall have peace pact since Hyjal. Not that it hasn't been broken in the past by minor characters. But I'm sure if the alliance was using her city for raiding Org/Bilgwater, She would toss every one on to a ship and sink it or send them packing to Stormwind.
Your guess is as good as mine for the horde version of this but I know it would be defend Bilgwater. Maybe capture a pirate for interrogation and later Retaliation in the name of Hellscreem.

Some are much bigger than others, t'was the point.

From an Alliance perspective I am kind of wondering if they are going to give mages a different location to port to since they have the ability to port to Theramore now. I also wonder about the boat from Menthil Harbor to Theramore. Non mages can take a boat from Stormwind to Darnasus or a boat from booty bay to Ratchet, or use the portals in stormwind if they are high enough level, but I will miss having a way to get from the top of Eastern Kingdoms to the other continent for my lower level toons.
