Ghost Saber and Cataclysm

Hello All
Do you think they will remove this pet, as they are moving the town to the north right near wear this use to spawn? Just wondering if anyone has any insight?

Honestly, nobody knows. I started a thread a while back about this, as I was also worried about the clutchmother. Part of me figures that they won't remove unique skins, but another part of my brain reminds me that they've done it in the past...

Either way, I went and tamed both. I figure it'll be easy for me to retame Outlands and Northrend beasts in Cataclysm.

Mine are packed so even IF I wanted Ghostly Sabre, Ms. Clutchmother, or Ms. Pinky in Mulgore I'd have to ditch Sciuto my wolfy.

Besides the point, as Sarayana said I don't think any of us know what pets will be extinct if any... the mention of 'revamping' the zones, & mentioning of say, keeping plaguelands still 'plaguey' leads me to believe that:

-yes zone revamp will happen
-perhaps some of the old textured beasts, & rares will still exist, but perhaps just a higher level?

That's very true Mania. I also recall them explicitly stating that they wouldn't make the spirit wolf untameable, yet here we are. They see some prestige in having things that are no longer available (just look at the feats of strength for unavailable christmas gifts...) so it's definitely possible that they retire certain unique skins. Anyway, I decided that I'd rather be safe than sorry. (Though poor Tama still hasn't gotten her name yet, as I haven't actually played Sara since taming her... >_<)

This might help you about what changes are being made, and maybe some more pets too. But unfortunately, I'm not extremely sure on the two Darkshore Beasties... =/

I am concerned about the ghost saber actually. The area where the figurines are on live is partially retained in beta. I went there to check it out and did not find the figurines there in the current beta build.

it is of course possible that they moved the figures or even changed the spawning method.

I'll try and keep this updated and check back there every so often on the beta, but to be safe i am going to be taming one again on live, regardless.

Already tested and in one of Total Biscuits Cata videos you can even see one of the cat figurines.

If you're always curious, just get one now and keep it just in case. It would stink if they would take away his uniqueness somehow (new skin.. etc.)

Maybe they are planning on changing it and just havent gotten to it yet. But one thing, he has been around for years before BC even came out, you would think if they wanted to get rid of him they would have by now.

The new alli town isn't near/in the same area seeing the quests there send you up to the same area, just instead of naga you have trolls you need to slay instead, and the figurines are still there.
