Like I'm not one of those super-impatient-annoying people who *demand* beta *now* but god I can't wait to design my panda girl. ):

Have ya logged into Battlenet? I have not yet received an email : / I logged into Battlenet this morning for something totally different and under 'Account' I noticed I had 'World of Warcraft: Mists of Blah Blah Beta' under the 'My Games' section in the middle of my screen xD I squeeeeled I just downloaded the English EU client and after 1 hour of waiting for it to reach the orange playable bar, I'm in!

Hey everyone!

No updates in a while, been so busy again with real life....

Upto egg #12 atm for green proto (will hatch tomorrow I think)

I've also been picked for our guild's main raid team (yay!). BUT I'm worried about my dps.

I'm BM spec and would love to stay that way (I only ever use my exotic pets + Vorador <3 ) - I hate that ppl assume that only MM or Surv hunters can contribute to the raid meaningfully However, I've been getting alot of grief (even in RF) about my dps - apparantly I should be doing 10k+ on what I am atm with my gear...

Last week I got booted outta RF before second boss because some smart-ass mage initiated mass kicks for ppl with below 20k dps (he reckons he could do this with auto attacks, whether this is true I don't know). 2 ppl linked dps counters to show who needed the boot, and I came up as 18k on one and 22k on another (not sure how this happened?!). So I got the boot

Can anyone give me any pointers? Feel free to slag my gear, enchants or gems! I have only started raiding for real for the last 6 months so I'm not experienced in stats etc I have around 2k VPs to spare if I need to get some more vendor gear...

My rotation includes keeping SS up, using cobra to refresh, popping KC and BW when off CD and ofc rapid fire when available. Another hunter in RF told me to use multiple shot inbetween as a focus dump (I was using arcane shot).

Hrm. Seems bizarre that you're doing that kind of DPS even in BM. It isn't bad but it's not considered 'good' for most people in that stupid RF. For the lulz I did the first part of RF in BM spec and I was doing 22k-30k the whole time. I'm not even someone who cares too much about my DPS since all I'm doing RF for is the gear for transmog, haha. I love the set. I normally do RF in MM spec since I prefer the rotation in that spec and I do around 30k. For me, when it comes to reforging, I make sure to pick these stats in this order. Crit > Hit > Haste > Mastery. Though of course hit becomes prio when it's less than 8%. As for gems, I never gem mastery. I'm not too sure about BM but I find it next to useless for MM compared to everything else.

As for the rotation, I would use cobra shot of course to keep serpent sting up and to gain focus, KC whenever it's up and arcane shot to use up focus. I'd always use BW when available.

Apart from that I really don't know. :/ I'd use a spirit beast if no one is using a cat, a wolf if someone is using a cat and otherwise perhaps a core hound or a devilsaur.

I'm confusel-bobed cos everything you describe I do : / I'm also talented according to the Hunter's Union guide... I just can't get how ppl's counters can be so different (I've never used one, might do this week to see what mine says). I asked our RL what my dps was last raid and he assured me it was good (he said I was around 25k and was second in the raid). Our top dps is usually around 32k and I don't want to even touch that, but I don't want to be the weak link in the chain either if my gear means I should be doing more! I think I'm roughly the same ilvl as the 32K dps peeps

It just scares me when a MM friend plays like you and has only 2 pieces of RF gear yet she does more dps than me!!! :<

Hey Zhuge, I raid BM and am consistently top three dps with a rogue and an arms warrior. I bring my devilsuar everywhere for the crit buff.

Ty Nili! I'm defo gonna try everything ppl have suggested! I usually raid with Vorador (old Cliff), Grump (Krush) or Hope (Karoma) so looking at your tips its my rotation that might be slightly out...Will also check my reforging

Just a few tips for BM stuff in DS...
Ban'thalos, birds, and Devilsuars are the only pets that can reach the drakes on the lootship.
You may find your pet might stand still on the spine, moving forward and pressing passive and then having him attack your target is easiest to fix it. On Madness, your pet may decide that attacking from the water is a good idea, passive fixes that fast.
I haven't had as much fun as I do now with Beast Mastery in BM, you can do it Zhuge

What probably happened with two different people having different DPS counts for you is one probably had it set to 'overall DPS' and the other to 'DPS for the last fight'. There can often be a huge difference between the two. I believe when I checked mine yesterday after finishing the raid my total was only 18k when in the current fight it had been 25k almost constantly.

Just some things I see.

Glyphs: Replace Serpent Sting with Kill Command.

Talents: Might want to take Sic 'Em over Imp Serpent Sting.

Enchants: Missing head and chest. Get ramkahen (+60agi/+35haste) for head and peerless stats (+20stats) for chest.
Get your therazane rep up for a better shoulder enchant.
Replace mastery on your boots to either +35agi or +25 agi/+run speed.

Gems: Anyways gem red agi gems in red slots.
Put red agi gems in yellow or blue slots unless the bonus is +20 agi or more. If this is the case, use orange +agi/+crit for yellow and purple +agi/+hit for blue.
For your chest use two agi and one agi/crit. For legs use all agi. For boots use agi and agi/crit. For second ring use agi.

Stats: You are a little under the hit cap of 8%. For reforging, I suggest using WoW Reforge and double check everything you do with Female Dwarf Hunter DPS Analyzer.
I know some BM hunters swear by mastery over crit for gems, enchants, and reforging. Personally I use crit since I switch specs a lot. You'll need to do some dps tests yourself to see which is better.

Your rotation looks good. I use multi as a filler shot if there are more than two mobs for aoe damage. Otherwise use arcane.

This time last year, I was a casual dpser who didn't even bother learning my class and only cared about levelling to tame pets. Now I want to show off my hard work effectively and efficiently whilst not bowing down to the mass 'you MUST be surv or MM to raid' crowd

Nili, I totally know where ya from when you mentioned getting kicked for having a SB out at your side in instances - this happened to me constantly in Wrath, and I still even today get negative comments as I zone in I used to get really upset, as whilst I didn't care about my dps, I found the 'trophy pet' tag hurtful, as I never tamed a pet because I wanted to show off - but because I loved what the pet was!!

Now hopefully my dps will silence the BM haters

That's funny, I'm the opposite. I tamed my pets in 4.2 to show them off, then I bonded with them xD

I posted the guide on the WoW hunter forums and got people giving me schtick for it. I was like HELLO it says NILI's BM GUIDE, not EVERYONE'S BM GUIDE . I've managed to keep myself 5k ahead of another survival hunter in our group, and seem to know what I'm doing.. but the WoW forums are just a cesspool of knowitalls it seems

BM is the spec people are used to making fun of and laughing at so they will continue to do so, everyone jumps on the bandwagon and refuses to try anything new.

I have major respect for anyone who decides to try raiding in BM. Means they're not following the crowd and they want to raid how *they* want to raid, not how everyone else wants them to raid.

^ THIS ^ is why I won't respec to anything else. I have been BM for 6 years - why should I change to suit someone else? If I can get something decent outta BM (and lets face it Blizz won't make a spec totally redundant) then I will, even if it means more effort...I'm sick of getting in raids with other hunters with a generic cat called fluffy or kitty - yes they pop out excellent dps, but thats what they play for, the dps -.-" I'm a hunter for a reason, and it aint easy dps...

Thankfully I have an uber supporting lovely guild that lets ppl play how they want to play, and everyone changes to help get the best outta each other <3

Ty everyone for the suggestions. I have respecced and re-glyphed following Wassa's advice, and have used Nili's rotation. The result??? 32k on the 1st boss in HoT hc!!!

Congrats and good luck Zhuge, I support you no matter how you want to raid. (: I personally found raiding too time consuming and too stressful so I quit and starting playing the game mostly for the vanity side of things to be honest, hehe. Pets, mounts, making your gear look pretty, etc.

Well today is my birthday I gotta share with you my epic birthday present!!!

My sister is super creative, so much so she designed and then printed me this epic t-shirt It has Zhuge and Vorador on the front, and Raziel on the back at the bottom





She's hand painted them on her graphics tablet before (read very nervously) having them printed onto a black t-shirt I have the hunter J!NX t-shirt, but this is so much more personal
