What I want to know...
The wild critters. After you tame/capture/whatever, can they follow you around like normal minipets?
If not, I am going to be a sad panda...

Yes, they can follow you around. The pet journal will let you summon any pet you have.

so are all critters becoming mini pets? I was working on my <the seeker> and on my way out of mara I noticed lots of baby shale spiders by the purple crystal entrance in live. Anyone want to go check them out in beta some time?

Both Maraudon shale spiders are on the Kalimdor list over on WarcraftPets.
