New NPCScan Addon

Unread post by Kurasu »

Seriously, why did no one tell me that this plugin for NPCScan exists? It makes things a whole lot easier for those of you/us who want to be able to keep all the rares on the list without having to add them in manually:

If people knew about this beforehand... I wish someone had told *me*! ;)

Silverdragon and this addon go together amazingly. Silverdragon automatically finds rares by 'recognizing' the silver dragon border, and then you use SD to target, and this addon will automatically add it to your NPCScan. Just... fantastic.

That is sweet - if it's not yet in your list, you still have to find it in-game and either target it or mouseover it, so if you want to get the alert right off, then you still need to keep updating your npc_scan like always, but yeah - this is still pretty neat to have.

it might be VERY beneficial to have come next expansion, when most of the rares wont come auto-installed for several months likely. I think Terrorpene didn't even have a wowhead page for about 3 months when Cata was released

This add-on is the only thing that really makes camping for the rare drakes possible!

This is exactly what I was thinking about it for. :) Adding things manually isn't too hard... but you need to have the NPC ID. This, however, allows it to grab its *own* version of the ID without having to wait for someone to tell you, or Wowhead to update.

True, and it's a lot better than *not* having it, just bear in mind you need to find it "the old fashioned way" the first time, meaning you could miss it (if you're just passing through and not camping for it, say), or become aware of it too late, etc.

Ofc for things like hunter pets you can presumably just hang around a capital and click one that's already tamed, as kind of a shortcut...
