Beta and those wonderful errors

Unread post by Raiyen »

Okay so I got my Beta invite finally as I figured I would be in the last wave. lol Anyway, since we where going to be gone most of this weekend, I wanted to try my darnest to get the Beta downloaded while we where gone. Well, everytime I came home, I had that stupid Error #1. I have given up. I have browsed through the forums on the official site and looked up all the "fixes" and none of them have worked. I don't know what else to do and it is very frustrating. I expected problems IN THE GAME, but simply downloading it, no.

So my question is, does anyone else have any idea on how to get past this damn thing so I can download the Beta and actually be able to play? :/

I have done the following;
- Delete Agent folder
- Uninstall/Reinstall
- Delete Battle.net folder
- Checked and made sure Firewall was off for it, which it is.
- I don't have virus protection. *shush lol*
- I did the unhide folders and cannot find "ssleay32.dll" which the suggestion was to find and change to "ssleay32.bak"

Help? :(

Are you able to log in to a character, even for only a moment or two?

I found this:

7. Error 1 while attempting to patch

We've seen two different situations with Error 1s with patch 4.3.2. Some of them are specifically caused by a security program called "Net Nanny", and can be resolved with the temporary removal of this third-party software.

Another program that seems to be causing an error 1 is PC Tools. You may want to try temporarily disabling the PC Tools software to work around this error. If the error still occurs, you can try temporarily uninstalling it as long as you are willing to try. If not, you'll want to contact the PC Tools manufacture for assistance.

Unfortunately, for cases not caused by "Net Nanny" or "PC Tools", the only solution we have at this time is a full uninstall and reinstall of the game client. #8

I cry inside every day, as common courtesy withers away. Are you part of the problem or will you help it grow?

I may have to have my husband read over some of this stuff and see if he can figure it out. He is more of a computer guru than I.
