[Rogue] Glyph of Disguise: Glyph of Ganking xD

Did anyone else ever use Eyes of the Beast back in the day to tame a creature from, say, a starting area, then slowly walk it around amongst the other mobs until a newbie player would accidentally hit your pet, therefore flagging them?

Glyph of Disguise seems to have the same sort of potential.

Hehehe. I'm mostly seen rogues disguise themselves as a huge Gronn then hearth to Org to run around like that. I haven't thought of this. Must make a rogue now.

Hee, it certainly wouldn't work on everyone, but just like with the old Eyes of the Beast pranking, it all depends on how little people are paying attention. You can catch a lot of new players with this sort of trick, but sometimes it can actually work out better on veterans. How many times have you rolled an alt and just gone through the first quests on auto-pilot because you know them like the back of your hand? That's when you can catch people. They're just mindlessly jumping from mob to mob not really paying attention.

Sure if anyone's looking around and notice your name or the nameplate they probably won't fall for it, but you'd be surprised how many people are just sort of oblivious.

It does however make me want to lvl my worgen rogue named Ganknsniff.. I think it would work great! And if anything id love to be a kobold just to run around screaming "you no take candle" for awhile, dont think thatll get old. Atleast not for awhile.. pvp servers would be fun as heck and sooo horror filled its going to be interesting, glad though im on a pve server. Hmm yes lvl.. rogue.. or heck my bro has a lvl 85 rogue just steal him from time to time when im bored.

Well... Darnell himself was quite amusing, but I could see this getting old FAST, especially when people inevitably get ugly and follow up with graveyard camping, /slap, /spit, etc.

You're still thinking of the Darnell types... e.g. people who kind of stand off to the side and let you choose whether to attack or not. I'm talking about the ones who stand on top of mobs you're attacking, or flight masters, or quest NPCs you're trying to talk to, etc. It can be tricky to avoid them when you can clearly see who / what they are, but... you get the picture.

The whole thing would become moot ofc if they just added a pvp lock to the settings page, like they have in Rifts.

There's at least some indication they might eventually get there, based on the recent addition of the "block guild invites" checkbox... one can hope anyway.

I would love a feature to prevent accidental pvp caused by members of the oposite facting doing something like this. i think that this glyph will need to be changed around a bit, even if just to prevent the giant "gronns" lumbering around the cities.
