Ugh, there sure is a lot of corruption to clear out still. The Dryad says I am still at 3 percent although it did go down by two percent. I figured if I rid the world almost entirely of corruption (except for my small farm), I won't have to worry about it too much to make a hallowed biome ASAP, even though I'd still like to see that happen. The way I make my farm, I've seen this sort of method done for the glowing mushrooms but this works, too, so this is not my original. Say you have a small 3X3 piece of ground. Chip out the very middle piece to form a hole in the middle. That's a very good way to make a farm: create a hollow rectangular dirt or mud depending on what you want to grow and you can make it as long as possible if you have enough dirt/mud to use. You'd get a bigger chance in getting the mushrooms by letting them grow inside that box as well as outside of it. Also, in my case with my corruption farm, I had to have some ebonstone around to make it feel more like corruption. Funny enough, whenever I go inside my farm and the environment changes, since I have a large lake about a hundred feet or so below that, I may hear some squishing going on, which means that my going to my little farm has caused a goldfish to go bad and kill the others, even if the lake is within a normal, happy environment down below. I get quite a bit of goldfish living near my home, more than bunnies.

That's the hard part! I had lots of trouble setting up a multiplayer server; we both had to get Hamachi to serve as a go-between. Don't even ask. There were so many hoops that had to be jumped through before it would work, though it was totally worth it when it did.

I have it. I bought during Steams Christmas sale. xD I actually got carried through most of it. Friend of mine had me long onto her multiplayer server and gave me a bunch of crap... Cept a Lucky Horseshoe. I still don't have one cause I can't find a damn Sky Island. =( So I end up like Jesse a lot of the time. A hole in the ground. :<

If it's that easy for you, congratulations! For a lot of us, that isn't the case. Or wasn't. Maybe it's been fixed....

I believe it should be as easy as that, at least when it comes to playing with one other person. Almost would seem as easy as chatting in Skype or any other free site. The one word we all would love. Free. XD

Just now finished following a tutorial on Youtube on how to make easy money, although it took me quite a while to find three goldfish and two crab statues I needed. Even had to start a new world to find the rest. Most of them were found at or near the underground jungle, which was a fun trip *not really*. Too bad Terraria can't run in the background, otherwise, I'd be typing this while hearing constant squishing noises.

Since 1.1 patch I disconnect in multiplayer games. My computer doesn't seem to receive tile data after a few minutes. This even happens when I'm playing a game with my boyfriend, and we live in the same house. He doesn't disconnect, but we have to reset the router every time I disconnect. I've seen bug reports about this, but no fixes.

Makes this game really boring for me if I cannot play with other people. =(

Kalliope, I'm not trying to make it seem like you guys are idiots...seems you're getting that from my posts? Anyways, I'm just confused. What exactly is the issue? All I've ever known is entering the IP for the person hosting the world and then clicking a connect button.

Whats wrong with yours? Does it not have an IP box?

Don't worry; haven't been getting that feeling at all. :) The entire system is really quirky; I'm absolutely amazed that there's someone out there who hasn't had trouble with it!

The problem was that entering in an IP didn't connect us - the screen would just display "connecting" forever. It wouldn't even time out, as I recall. Hamachi's IPs worked, though. It was really odd.

The devs had even posted officially suggesting Hamachi as a go-between because the problems were so rampant.

Korii and I have been doing multplayer. I'll ask him to post to say how he figured it out to do it. Something about creating a server? Or Something.
Maybe his method could help others to easily set up a stable multiplayer.

Ok, so...yeah, just entering the other person's IP doesn't work, you have to actually open up a port.....I found the instructions here http://terraria.wikia.com/wiki/Multiplayer under "Guide to Hosting a Server (No Hamachi)". I didn't find it too difficult to understand and work through, except the fact that my updated router wasn't on the list, so I had to work around that......but....there ya go.

That is just so strange to me, I had about 6-7 friends all playing Terraria and we never had the IP issues so its just weird that this is supposedly such a rampant issue...we generally ALWAYS run into problems with new games with one or two people either not being able to load or connect to peers. It sucks. :(

So many games get the multiplayer problems. Do not want.

-edit-

Read post above me, maybe its also because we put the DMZ up on our router. o:

*nods to Korii* Yeah, I had trouble with that, due to my comp/router/etc. -_- I followed everything to the letter, or so I had thought. :/

Anyway, Hamachi had worked for us. :D

In the future you can try going into your advanced router settings and turning the DMZ option on while you're trying multiplayer. This should only be needed for the host.

We started doing this automatically for multiplayer games where we need someone to host because so many games eff up with the multiplayer crap. :(

DMZ is basically turning off your routers firewall afaik. You can just turn it back on when you're done. None of us have had any "break ins" or bad things happen while we had it off/on whatever. XD

(I think this automatic DMZ turnoff that we do for the host is probably why we didn't experience the connectivity issues)

Hmm...maybe! My bf tried, but I get flustered when I don't know what I'm doing. :) I haven't had this problem with anything else, so Hamachi works for this for me. ;)
