beta was nice while it lasted... Blizz won't let me play

The latest build broke things bad.

That happened to me. Did you try rebooting your computer? That fixed it for me.

I know you can fix this by going into your Task Manager and ending a program that's running then launching the beta again (this same error occurred early in beta release), but I can't remember what it was. Try restarting your computer like Crystal suggested as that would probably end it anyways.

I rebooted, same problem.

Currently reinstalling, will see if that helps, but it didn't when I hit "play" while it was still downloading (same error).

Checked my activity monitor (I'm on a Mac), don't see anything else running related to Blizz...

edit - tried quitting several other processes that were running that I didn't recognize, same result.

I think Blizz broke it.

Rebooted again, nothing in activity monitor, I'm DOA.

Guess I'll see you all after the next build, IF it works...

Ok, fixed!

Apparently the default now is that it is looking for the 64-bit client. Which I don't have installed.

Had to tell it to launch the 32-bit version.

I had all kinds of issues logging on with this latest build. I'd fix one error and a different one would pop up. What finally worked was launching it directly from my battle.net account page. Haven't had a problem since. *knock on wood*

On a Mac, if you go to options and tell it to launch the 32-bit, it should work.

on the beta forums they've also suggested skipping the launcher completely & opening the .exe file the launcher points to
