Aww im sorry, its so stupid that you were not even allowed to roll conisdering you paid for the run. Sadly alot of guilds who do runs like that either you have to pay up for it or they wont let you roll at all..

In my opinion, everyone should be allowed to roll. It doesn't matter if somone's just a spot-filler or if they're just tagging along for something, everyone helps to contribute to getting the boss down, everyone should be allowed to roll. The only time I ever find something really annoying is when someone wins the mount and then they don't even use it. It's happened to me so many times while running for the Twilight Drake. I do runs every week for it and I never win and so many people I've seen that walk away with it don't even use it. It makes me wish I could just reserve the mount, but then no one would come to the raid. I would offer gold, but I barely have any right now and the 3-4k I do have sitting about I'll eventually need.

Don't be too upset about it. If you keep trying, you will get it eventually.

I hear you there...I had someone win it and then call it ugly! D: I...guess they're entitled to try to get to 100 mounts, but try not to insult it in front of people that might really like and want it?

Ugh.. I hate that when someone wins it then hates it or doesnt even want to use it. Well then why the heck did you roll in the first place if you didnt want it.. its called greed. It makes me sad im an avid mount collector but my rolls suck, then when the person doesnt even use it all.. it hurts.

Exactly why I run only with friends, fellow mount collectors, people who legitimately want the mount or I reserve it for gold.

I absolutely can't stand seeing a rare mount go to somebody who won't use it; let alone diss it when they win.

I try to use as many of my rare mounts as I can in rotation so they can be seen; So people can ask about them and learn where they come from.
Rare things deserve to be used - I've had people get extremely pissy with me about how I'm "hoarding rare mounts" that I "never use" when it's completely the opposite.

When Invincible drops I won't stop using my Firehawk for instance - they'll be used almost equally - Along with my West Wind Drake, Dark Phoenix (when I get it), Ironforge Ram and Oynxian Drake.

The girl who walked out with the mount payed a hefty sum to the roll winner after she freaked out about how much she wanted it; I'm glad somebody who wanted it so badly managed to get it but my jimmies are still /extremely/ rustled about this. I wouldn't have cared if they said something prior and it's hilarious how stupid me who ALWAYS asks about mounts in a pug didn't this one time.

I think it was a friend who called it ugly...but she'll still be helping me run it, so there's that at least! Managed to down it with only 7 this week, and 2 already had it. Harassing guild into going = verreh nice.

T-1's kind of grown on me recently and it's the only full tier I actually use.
((I do have a set with the T-8 Helm/Shoulders but the rest is either T-10 or WoTLK/Cata greens.))

It looks silly in Worgen form though - Like a big doggy collar.

Speaking of Transmog; I won 16k in the Proudmoore transmog contest earlier this weekend. Was awesome!

That's what I did too! In one way or another I love each and every mount so I needed to take a screenshot of them all. They're on my 'new' mount journal. And believe me, cause I edited every picture and stuff, it took *ages*. xD But it was worth it! I now have a shiny and tidy gallery of all my mounts just like I always wanted. :3

And transmog contests?! Why doesn't my realm have something like that?! I love my current transmog set, season 10 hunter gear and Terokk's Shadowstaff with my purple/green warp stalker, Cinder. Sadly I can't actually transmog the staff cause my main weapons are both polearms. Why on earth can we transmog ranged weapons to whatever we like but not melee? Suppose it won't matter for me as a hunter in a few months though... Meh I'll miss my awesome weapons. Ah well!

Not sure if I'm going to be collecting mounts in MoP or playing at all.
With the current system that was up on Beta for a short while every single mount was shared across all your toons;

Which means for farming if I want a good shot at anything I'll need to have as many 85's as possible doing every raid lock out as often as possible.

Unwarranted advantage and far too carrot on a stick.
I'll probably just keep going after Invincible only if I keep playing.

There's no reason for you to feel the need to do it on every character, as Meggers said. Do it however you like. Get the mount because you want it.
