Tamed turtles and tigers thread!

Is anyone else getting a msg saying "skill not high enough" when attempting to tame some creatures? the tame seems to go fine until the very last moment

Currently there is a glitch where you can only tame a creature that's lower level than you. It's been ongoing since the start of beta.

Tamed a porcupine and its really "interesting" because after taming he decreases a lot in size:



Could be a minor glitch that he's so small at that level, he's became level 87 after I tamed him, or maybe not, but after running around with pets twice his size it does make you do a double take.

When I walked in the krasang wilds today I wanted to tame a black tiger, but it says not tameable....so I was going on a walk to see the other creatures out there, not tameable, none of them.
Looks like Blizz turned it back?

Looks like only in Krasarang and Valley for now. Animals in Jade Forest are still tameable but only tameable at a lower level than your toon.

Yes. Blizzard only made beasts in Jade Forest tameable. Beasts in Valley and Krasarang were never tameable.

Finally got a black tiger of my own now that the taming level glitch has been fixed.

I think I've definitely found a future permanent pet. He just...man, he feels right with Veph. Instant click.

I hope they allow Hunters to tame porcupines! I'd so love to have a porcupine! But they do not belong in the "boar" family. And I say "cats" should get a 2nd "family" thing. Like, example, a family for "lions". Since simple "Wolves" got diversified (into 2 other, separate groups no less).

The wolf family didn't get diversified so much as classified correctly. Dogs aren't wolves. Try to tell me they're close and I'll point you at the flappy-jawed Gilnean hounds. XD;

However, there are dogs IRL that are very similar to wolves. I must agree though, the family is more a correction than a split. It wouldn't make much sense to split cats when physically they're all mostly identical, and all Cats.
