Why so much Caramelldansen hate? :c

I personally.. Can't be happier with the female dance. Call me crazy, but I was HOPING it'd be the Caramelldansen. XD

But, honestly, I don't see why there's so much hate for it. So what if it's SORT OF an internet meme? As someone else stated, other dances have been rather meme-ish in their own way, and it's not like there hasn't been meme references in the game before. I just don't see what's the big problem with it.

idgaf I love the male AND female.
The nightelf dance is kind of a meme, as in if it had never hit the internet, most of the world would have never known about Alizee. Durp! :P

I hate it because it looks ridiculous and the overuse of it makes it even worse. But that is just my opinion. If I roll a female panda, I will just remember not to /dance.

And I think human female's dance looks dorky - doesn't stop me from rolling the occasional human. To each their own!

Night elves look good at least... female pandaren just looks stupid. xD

At least they should have reduced the time they spent flailing their arms over their head.

Oh I agree with the human female dance too. lol

I hope I didn't come across angry or anything. D: I am really tired (3am here) and may not be wording things well. I know a LOT of people wanted that dance for the female pandas so, eh, whatever. I am not raging mad about it. Just annoyed because I don't like the dance. lol

I need to go to bed.../eye twitch I know as soon as I do though, my son will wake up. ;o;

That works just aswell. I knew I had read somewhere that the particular word was frowned upon, but I couldn't remember where or why. I still stand by that opinion, but I seriously lack a word that is just as strong. That dance pisses me off. :P

I do agree that the arm flailing part of the female pandaren dance lasts a little too long. The silliness suits their personality dead on, though. :) And the male pandaren make shuffling so...happy! Teehee.

Edit to add that I despised having the female night elf dance. Couldn't dance sarcastically with it. >_< I've preferred everything else to it.

Miyon wrote:That dance.. looks incredibly silly. Apparently flailing your arms around is a dance? >.< Meh, I still will roll a female pandaren, when i figure out what class I want.

Edited to avoid offending anyone.
It's a lot more than just flailing the arms.... :3

See for yourself. It's the Para Para Caramelldansen. the 'arms part' was just one part which came from an anime then turned into a meme. Then the dance was born.

Pop culture references, yes. Silly, yes. But they are real dances. Saturday Night Fever, real dance, classic disco. Macarena, very silly but a dance for a song danced by real humans in a music video and all over the world at the time. Can't touch this, real dance for a real song danced by real people. The thing is, all other races have dances danced by real people.

I don't mean to offend anyone, I'm not angry about this (because it's done, I know I'll not change Blizzards mind), just disappointed. I'm sure there are other pop music videos that have awesome dancing, if they wanted a ready-made vid dance instead of say, researching fan dance and making /putting together a small choreography for the Pandaren females.

ETA: Jessibelle, I watched the video you linked and the pandaren don't seem to do anything but the moves from the chorus? -.- Yeah, there's lots of moves in the verses, but most of the pandadance is still the "bunny ears" over and over and over again...and that one leg lift. :/

I did indeed watch it eariler :)
I guess the flailing of arms just got to me, it's particulary the part from about 1min and to 1.10 or so, I think. There is at least some variation in the rest of the dance :P

THIS.SO.MUCH.

The old dances are something awesome and somewhat 'historic', not just a crappy fashion MTV video that is popular since two months like Beyoncé, Timberlake or this two clowns here. This is just mainstream. I hate mainstream.

I'm not a fan at all of the female dance because they have too much 'cutesy' already. I was happy that they looked cute and had adorable animations, but after that I was hoping they could at least dignify them with a more... mature... dance. In the end I'm not even that bothered since, well, who actually dances that often anyway? I know I don't.

This too. I mean I love the looks of female pandaren, but I was hoping for some balance. Pandas are not a joke remember? I don't need constant angst and bad-assery 24/7, but SOME validity to female pandaren being out in the World Of WARcraft would be nice, so they don't just....frolic through Azeroth like on a kawaii picnic.

And well, I don't /dance very often, but when I do I make sure that it's on a char I like the dance of. Lucky my main and first alt are Draenei females, who look very elegant. Meh, this too will pass. I know if I saw a pandaren female dancing in a group with other races doing their thing it'd not look so bad at all.

Nothing really would've fit the female pandaren so I don't agree they would've found anything more fitting. This was what the majority wanted so Blizz went with it. Fempandas are cute. Caramelldansen is cute. There aren't a lot of 'cute dances' out there. Ironic thing is...I think Caramelldansen is Swedish but its meme came from a japanese anime.

The 'bunny ears' is the signature Caramelldansen so thats probably why. Blizz tends to take the chorus dance moves just judging by their other dances.

And I'd rather keep the 'world of WARcraft' argument out of this since that really has nothing to do with a fun emote. ^^;

Also if you think about it....let them be overly cutesy....let the enemy underestimate the cutesy panda fem......they would never suspect their fist will break their face. x3

Pop culture IS mainstream. That's why it's called pop, aka popular, culture. xP It fits in well enough with the rest of Warcraft's dances, so I wouldn't be terribly bothered by it even if I didn't like it - and to be honest...the more I see about female pandarens the more it makes me want to roll one, dance included.

Oh I will roll a female Pandaren :P Gotta try it out just like goblins and worgens and draenei and bloodelves. Drae stuck, belf is good for the times I want to play horde for a while, goblins are kinda fun and worgen were really not what I'd be into. Pandaren kind of remind me of Goblins now, so detatched from the rest of the world and their own set of hilariousness and not so much srs bsns. Cute version, as it were.
