I see water walking as a novelty move like Trick or Rest. We'll see though. xD
It's awesome that we get a BR, but the range on Eternal Guardian (20 yard) will require us to macro passive/dash (or MC) our pet can get near us if we need to BR a ranged player. Hopefully they will increase the range to 40. ^_^
I'm not sure Water Striders would be exotics though, water walking doesn't seem *super special* enough to limit it to just BM. If they did, I'm sure there would be a lot of beta posts about making the pet excessible to all specs since it's just a fun ability.

Giraffes is acually related to the horse, so I think that's not really something that should be in the goat family.
But I'd still like them to become tameable someday (with normal horses)
I'd like to see waterbugs allowed for all hunters, personally. :c I have a neglected surv spec I'd like to have a waterbug with.
Water walking isn't just fun, it /is/ useful. Being able to walk on water is great in PVP, getting to and from places or just trying to escape someone trying to kill you, useful for fishing, etcetera. Unlike 'trick' for birds which just makes them do a loop, or rest for bears, which makes them flop over. It does have utility. Not a lot of it, about the same as Devilsaur Mortal Strike which is usually only useful PVP - but enough where I WILL have one, whether it's exotic or not. +_+ gimmeh my waterbug!
the fact that its butt glows, triggering my Shiny Glowy Thing response, is surely not part of it.

And an ability that helps the hunter fish.
I hope Zhevras get put in the Goat family, now that I think about it. And hopefully Giraffes. xD
What's funny is about the utility new pets get when they come is how we hunters seem to get utility spells of almost every possible class, while still keeping the faceroll level of playing difficulty (this is not a complaint - as a hunter you can literally just right-click a mob and still kill it, while other classes require upkeep of balanced abilities to keep fighting).

People will notice if a hunter's just autoshotting the same as they'll notice if someone's just autoattacking...because their dps will be shit.

I meant more for questing and levelling. I noticed it on the beta most recently. Due to massive lag at Longying Outpost, I can barely even -move- there. When levelling my hunter there, I just right clicked the mob and in few seconds it was dead, along with his friends (with an ocassional Mend Pet thrown in). As a paladin if I did the same, I'dn't kill a single mob.
When I read this I almost cried, I was so happy. ;_; Now we just need hydras as a family put in, and all other hooved creatures to go into the goat family.
I've been parading around the beta forums asking for at least 75 more slots constantly, in every thread I can. I hope they'll listen to us, because it's obviously not just me that wants more. I don't want to have to level 4 hunters just to have 100 stable slots >:
I'd like the 25 stable slots we're SUPPOSED to have. D: I am terrified the current bug that renders the first 5 in our stable 'locked' will go live on accident.
Edit: i have three hunters currently. ... every single one has all its slots filled. T_T

So is the Quilen Eternal Guardian ability just a normal rez or are we getting a combat rez too? And I think it's cool Cranes get their own family (I hope Lullaby has that same neat animation the Crane in the Jade Temple dungeon has)
What am I supposed to do about all of these new pets! D: I was having enough trouble deciding when we weren't even sure if we were keeping silk worms and porcupines! DX< Urgh!

My guess is a regular rez. Would not complain about a battle rez, but not going to expect that.

Battle rez for sure. 10 minute cooldown, doesn't state cannot be used in combat, 20% health and mana. Exciting!
