So I can keep track of which colours are in the game and what's currently tameable, I did a survey of basilisks. Everything in the game should be listed below, sorted by colour.

In Outland, only the purple ones from Terokkar appear to be tamable at the moment. Everything else physically in Outland doesn't seem to be flagged, though the red and yellow basilisks appear outside of OL and can be tamed.

Oh they're not a mistake. It was reported a few days ago... I was just doing a followup list so we can see what's currently available and which colours aren't even in the game.

I wasn't as concerned with Outland ones (but I will do them next) because there's only a few simple colours and all of them are in the game. So come release we should have our choice of colours (assuming they're all tameable).

It's only the old ones where the colouring is complicated and there's so many other colours that aren't available or used. At least there are a LOT of colour duplicates where some could be changed. Some of the gaudier and freakier combos (like purple crests) could be potentially be given to rares.

Just figured I'd help cut down the extra legwork, especially since, as you already said, the Azerothian basilisks are far more complicated!

I could of sworn I've seen a green one. But it could of been the amount of time I've spent looking at on in WMV when drawing them. XD

I added in all the Outland model basilisks tonight. All the colours (four, that is) are in the game.

There are two NPCs I haven't confirmed: the Spinescale Basilisk (Wowhead has 2 NPC IDs for them) and the Spinescale Matriarch. Both occur in far eastern Hyjal and they're phased out after you complete the quest chain there. Kalli, were they the ones you were referring to earlier?

Checking Porfus the Gem Gorger was still in the game took me longer than the rest combined, I think. He's a random summon from Ethereum Prisons and it took me ages to farm enough keys for him to finally appear.

Yep, those were the ones reported (and buried) in the other thread. Quoting for convenience!

Ah, I've found some shenanigans with the Hyjal Red Basilisk: They are two different mobs in different phases of the zone.

The tameable one, from my premade with no quests complete, is id 39658.
The ones you're having trouble with is in a different phase, id 48724.
On my Hunter that has completed Hyjal, both are phased out.

It's not urgent, though. I suspect the next patch will result in loads more of them tameable.

I was going to suggest checking the Proto-nether drake that uses the OL purple skin but I think they are classed as dragons.
