Profession Advice
Hi all,
I'm currently a Leatherworker/Skinner on my main (Araela). I'm maxxed in both, but for a long time I've been keeping an eye on Engineering. I love the different things you can do with it (parachute cloak, repair bots, etc), and with all the additions to MoP, I'm seriously considering switching one of my professions to Engineering...
My questions are:
1) Is Engineering worth dropping my 3% crit from skinning for?
2) Should I drop Leatherworking instead of skinning, or keep LW since I've maxxed it and have almost every LW recipe in game?
3) Should I just stick with what I have, and forget Engineering?
I do have an alt that is a blacksmith/miner, so I can get mats-- but I don't have another alt that skins at the moment. That can easily change though!
Thoughts?
Thanks all.

I dropped herbalism for engineering and haven't looked back.
You can always AH gathering mats if you need.

Re: Profession Advice
Skinning is one of the easist professions to level and it wouldn't be that much of a bother to level it again on another character. The 3% loss isn't anything to be too concerned about but I definitely wouldn't drop your Leatherworking since it's already maxed and there may be some cool new patterns coming in MoP (you never know).
My advice, either pick up Engineering provided you assign another alt the job of Skinning for your Leatherworker or just assign one of your alts the job of Engineering since you'll be starting out at the beginning of it anyways.

Re: Profession Advice
Thanks all!
Another friend of mine suggested I gather the mats for engineering now (I have the pally that is a miner) and wait until MoP to level it- because that way, I can gather all the skinning mats to level my LW. I think I may go that route-- but it is super tempting to do it now because I LOVE engineering so much! It's a lot of fun to make all the cool gadgets and mounts.
Second question--
Goblin or Gnomish? I'm Horde, so I'm leaning towards goblin.

Go Goblin!
I chose goblin engineering for my own engineerer and I absolutely love it! I think you get to make more companion pets too with goblin, so there's that added bonus as well

And the mini pets you can't make you can get off the AH I think. I'm sure i've got some off there.

My gnome rogue is a goblin engineer. It suits her.
Kalli, though, went gnomish in Wrath for the arrows. There are some fun toys there too.

Now is a good time to switch...
That said, there is easy money from skinning early in the starting zones, and from making the early armor kits, once Panda starts.
