Yeah, I was working on some of the Achieves for the Red Proto too. Alot of them I can do on my own, but a few I need help/a full group for. In fact, I may even start a thread for people who want to get together for Achievements. We could use the thread as more of an all-purpose thread, getting people together for all sorts of achievements, Horde-side, and Alliance Side.

Thats a good idea about a thread for that sort of stuff. Might as well use this community to gather people together to get some of those older achievements. I think I would like to keep this one mainly Herald of the Titans though, since mainly its already going to be a pain in the neck to try and coordinate 10 players with level 80s all being able to sign on at the same time to be geared enough to get the Algalon kill done.

Once the kill is made and achievement won, then I'd be more than happy to partake in a cross-realm lfg achievement forum (i think there might be one or two out there, somewhat).

Gimlion did you have a 80 toon that you wanted to gear up?

Off the top of my head, I think we're about 2-3 people short. I've had a couple people say they have a friend that would do this too, but I have no idea how reliable the "friend" is on this.

For those invested in a 80 right now, do you think its easier for a date mid week, or something on a Friday or Saturday to shoot for?

I'm currently working on leveling my DK, but it's going slower than I remember. I'm 75 atm, and am questing through Zul'Drak, perhaps there's a better zone for me atm? Idk, but I am working on it. And I certainly need to get geared as well, obviously, but that shouldn't take as long I don't think. If you end up filling the last spot without me, that's also alright, seeing as the Achievement isn't a shared Achieve, It's not to huge a deal, but I will hurry on capping Evin (DK) so that you don't need to go searching for an extra man.

Also, I'll likely start the thread sometime after we get Herald done. I don't necessarily want to impede on this group :D

Friday / Saturday would work best for me - I was operating on about 3 hours sleep after the last run. Ugh (though it was worth it). :P

Also, I think there may be a sharp spike in delay between getting everyone's lvl 80 from a mix of 213-226, up to a strict 226-232 bracket, so we may want to start doing Algalon runs once everyone is at least into the former - we still could possibly pull it off, and even if not, it would give everyone more experience doing it at that ilvl (for those who weren't running it back in wotlk, obviously).

Just a thought.

I think we could try Saturday night when we plan it. If its just a Algalon kill, I would say hopefully under an hour (say we wipe a couple times).

Gimlion, I would just grind out till 76 in Zuldrak at least and hop over to Scholazar Basin then at 76. Doing the Oracle / Frenzyheart questline makes it go pretty quick. Once you hit 77, hop over to Storm Peaks at K3 to start the Sons of Hodir questline, that will unlock the shoulder enchants for you too then and that whole chain should carry you to 78-79 ~ Then hop over to Argent Vanguard in Icecrown and you can take it from there (or else start the Ebon Blade unlock quest from the flying ship). I'm shooting for June 30th for this, so you technically have 29 days to level from 75-80. But if you're a bit behind its no worries to push it back a week if needed.

Once you hit 80 its pretty easy to gear up, you just need to be run through Ulduar once like Worba did and get 10 pieces of loot *snerk* Or the ICC 5 man regulars makes it quick werk

If it comes down to it, the week before I'll happily run you over and over through ICC 5 mans to at least gear up a lot of 219 pieces. That should be "enough"

JUNE 23rd ~ 10 O'Clock Central Standard Time

(thats 11:00PM Eastern, 8:00PM Western)

I'd just like to add that for a lvl 80, grouping with friends is definitely the way to go with ICC5's - I pugged fos extensively on my palitank a while back when he was still 80, and even as a tank my queue times averaged 45m-1.5hrs... and when the group formed, as often as not people would drop group when they realized the gear was sub-cata ilvl. And, those who stay generally are there for the mogs, so there tends to be a lot more "cross-role competition" on loot rolls.

As a tank spec you *can* solo some of the normal ICC5 stuff, but it's slow going and takes a lot of CDs and careful timing - after soloing Bronjahm, Ick and Garfrost many times, I had just a 219 1h'er and a ring. Then I got a ton of stuff on the Uld raid (granted there was a good amount of luck involved but if ppl are running you through to help you gear up for the Herald achievement, it shouldn't REQUIRE luck to get the gear...)

I'll probably tank 1-2 ICC5 heroics tonight if anyone wants in (I'm going for the 1h sword and axes, need 2 for frost spec).

Evin hit 80 today. I'll be gone until wednesday night, so I won't be able to gear up until then, but I got the leveling out of the way! :D

Edit: I also need to know whether you want me gearing for Tanking or Dps, as I can do both.

If you can get a set of cata greens, I *think* we could 3 man the ICC5 heroics with our 80s (you, me and Royi); I will be running as DPS in the herald raid, but in the meantime I'm in blood spec with good gear, so I can tank it - Royi can you heal? Worst case one of us might need to use a lvl 85, but either way that would be a *much* faster way of getting our 232 weapons than queuing randoms. And ofc each one leads to the next, so we could blast through all 3 at a time.

What do you guys think?

I'm basically done on my 80 as far as gear goes (just could use trinkets that drop in 10 man Ulduar at this point)

I'd be happy to run through on my 85 paladin. I think that would be most sufficient (just tank it while you guys pew pew)

Ok. I'm locked to FoS / PoS today on my DK, but if you're on tonight I'd like to run heroic Halls of Reflection - just need the 1h ax from the first boss so we can skip the rest if no one else needs it.

Also I have an 85 prot pali (alliance), so I can do run thrus as well, if needed.

I probably won't be available this weekend, guild wars 2 beta is open and the BF wasn't able to try the last one. I'm generally willing to help people out just add me via battletag or PM me on the forums.

I also prefer some notice ahead of time for things that will take a while (like gear runs in ulduar :) )

I try to give some sort of notice, but its all wishy washy with me a lot.

It really depends on if my kids are sleeping well, if a couple guildies of mine are on and wanting to make the run, if Petopians are on as well.

Overall its generally hard for me to commit to a specific timeslot at least for the next week or so. My little daughter recently broke her leg and she's a bit fussy at night with a large cast on :(

I see! I hope she feels better/gets a bit used to it soon. Poor thing will have that on for a long time.

I only get grumpy about requiring a specific timeslot because my boyfriend is a gamer as well and if I don't have plans we'll either go play something else or go out. xD I just want to be there when we do this!

I should probably get myself into the icc5mans...

it doesn't take too long generally. just run random cata's for justice points and you can net a few pieces easily from there, or even through honor if you have any saved up too. Or just grab a friend to run you through ICC 5 man regulars over and over again.

I'll try and get a Ulduar run going again this week
