Female Panda Voice Emotes: Discuss
and take that other off topic stuff to the pm's please :|

After listening to the emotes more its starting to grow on me more. It will be interesting to see if they will be synching the visual/vocal emotes more. Atm, its like a bad dubb...Although I really really like the current visual of the emotes.

Fair enough! I'm...still unsure what I think of them. While the voice sounds strong and wise, it also sounds a tad elderly for my taste. However it turns out, however, I'm sure I'll get used to it.

it took me a while to figure out precisely what I didn't like about it... it's not the deepness as I originally thought

It's the CALM

needs more energy!!!! :D

I kept waiting for her to say: “I am Joo Dee, welcome to Ba Sing Se
I will be your hoste as long as your in our wonderful city.”

I don’t really like the voice that much. I like the voice by itself and I like the modle by itself but I don’t think they match up. I don’t think it fits her but I guess its better then a cheery anime voice.

Eh, after listening to them all I realized it's not the tone of the voice or age of the speaker that I dislike, rather the fluctuation. Sometimes, like the flee or charge, sounds so young, whereas many others sound older.

I haven't listened, so I'll ask this:

Is it "That One Voice" they'd use for every deep female from that one dragon in the Ruby Sanctum up to Ysera?
Or is it "That One Voice" they've been using for every since female since New!Aggra/New!Tyrande/EveryDamnFemalePlayerCharacterInDiabloWhoIsn'tTheWizard?

And yes I know the credits claim all the female voices in Diablo III are different people but to listen to the female barbarian, and then the female witch doctor, and then start the monk and be pleased only for her to go right back into THAT SAME ACCENT halfway through her intro kind of cheesed me off a bit.

Orrrr is it more like a female tauren?
(I mean, it can't be worse than Old!Aggra)

Neither. Elderly (50-70 to my ear), but distinctly Asian.

Aha! I knew I recognized the voice from Avatar or something (or it at least sounds really similar). :D
Honestly, since they used the voice actress who played Azula for the female wizard in D3, it wouldn't surprise me entirely if they used Joo Dee for the female Pandaren. xD

(Guys, don't feed the obvious provoker. ;) )

Personally I like the contrast between the "cutesy" animations and a deeper more mature voice. Are women not allowed to be cutesy after they grow up? =(

Though what comes to the "elderly Asian woman down the street" sort of impression... I guess I can sort of understand. See, I don't know anyone like that as I live in a backwater spot of Finland so I don't have an association such as the aforementioned. Maybe that's why it's easier for me to hear it more neutrally? I don't know. Give it some time, I guess.
