Anyway I thought I would post this here in case any of you still have your original 1st gen Nano kicking around and would like to upgrade it to the newer version too.

iPod Replacement
I had my original 1st gen iPod Nano, but it was too small with only a 2GB capacity. I decided to see what the pricing was like on the newer Nano's, and in my searching discovered that my 1st gen had been recalled last fall due to an issue with overheating. Many people who sent theirs in were reporting that they had gotten their 1st gen's replaced with the current version of the Nano, regardless of what the original GB capacity was. I decided it was worth a try, so I filled out this form https://supportform.apple.com/201110/ on May 27. I got a prepaid package from Apple on May 31 to send my Nano back in to them, and I just got a delivery now from FedEx with an 8GB 6th gen Nano in it! Needless to say I am pretty happy as not only can I now fit all my music on my iPod, but it cost me nothing to do it.
Anyway I thought I would post this here in case any of you still have your original 1st gen Nano kicking around and would like to upgrade it to the newer version too.
