Not really. If anything, Kodos resemble early Anapsids from the Permian/Triassic Periods. Stocky, arched back, big flat Feet, and flat grinding teeth to eat plants.Redith wrote:To be fair, the Kodos are actually kind of a part of the Montor Lizard family too, A giant, horned, relatively gentle monitor lizard.
Not to derail the topic, but I had always thought they were meant to be like brontotheres or something similar, and hence mammalsCrotalus Horridus wrote:Not really. If you have no clue what an Anapsid was, it was the earliest relative of the turtle.
Edit: Pachyrhinosaurus FTW!
Yeah, before I found out that they laid eggs, I honestly thought of kodos more as...some sort of pachyderm rather than a reptile.Wain wrote:Not to derail the topic, but I had always thought they were meant to be like brontotheres or something similar, and hence mammalsCrotalus Horridus wrote:Not really. Maybe they're enormous monotremes thenVephriel wrote: Yeah, before I found out that they laid eggs, I honestly thought of kodos more as...some sort of pachyderm rather than a reptile.
I would KILL for a Triceratops pet, as well as a Spino...And while I would love a "Terror Bird" pet...We kinda have them with TallstridersCrotalus Horridus wrote:Have a bunch more pets I would like to see:

Yup, I read that Kodo is related to Thunder Lizard as well, but that was during WC3, which is few years before they released wow, so I forgot the link T T.Andine wrote:I think Kodos were stated to be related to Thunder Lizards (and those stated to be related to Stegodons), so you have that for making them reptiles. Probably not a part of any known Earth reptile classifications, either of them.
I'd totally support some kind of triceratops. It and some kind of Ankylosaurian could share a skeleton, possibly related to the Kodo one. Spinosauri could also make it as an alternate devilsaur model.
It seems Zandalari have quite a Jurassic Park in what remains of Zandalar (pterrodactes, raptors), so if we ever get to see Zandalar, I do hope for some of those, as well as Couatls (which along with snap dragons would make a nice WC3 reference).

Hmm, while it could very well be a reptile, I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the anatomy of a WoW model frame for clues. For example if you compare the kodo to a rhino:pop wrote:It is impossible for a kodo to be a mammal anatomically. One of the glaring skeletal feature of a reptile, is that its limbs grows out from the side of the body. where as mammal's would grow from under the body. If you examine closey, a kodo's limbs grow from the side of the body, which forces it to crawl with almost its belly touching the ground; a trait of a reptile.
I know what you've' said but here's an excerpt from the Stormcrow entry in wowwiki.Wain wrote:)
