Arcane pets?

Anyone else noticed that some pets are displayed as 'arcane'?

Yup, bug that's been there since the beginning of beta. They're still whatever family they were when you copied them over, as far as I know.

But that hunter on the picture isn't copied over though.

Okay, they're still whatever family they originally were...possibly whatever family you swapped the spec to. I haven't been able to play with pet spec swapping much so I can't say for sure on the last part.

I thought the bug was that Ferocity pets are displaying as Arcane.

Yep. It's just some minor bug, that 'Ferocity' is now called 'Arcane'. Pets appear to retain their appropriate Feroc skills, but the name is screwed up.

Of course, you could also just claim your pet is magic. That works too.

Man, I used to be so upset when I'd find a pet that looked awesome only to find out it was a dreaded caster pet. It's crazy thinking back to that and how long it took for them to fix them. xD

Man, I used to be so upset when I'd find a pet that looked awesome only to find out it was a dreaded caster pet. It's crazy thinking back to that and how long it took for them to fix them. xD

I remember too. Wanted a white warp stalker, but they sucked because they were casters. I was so disappointed. lol

Yup. Pretty dragonhawk? Sorry, caster pet. White wind serpent? Unless you wanted to camp out a rare one, caster pet. Most nether rays? Caster pets.

I had to go into a dungeon to tame a Sporebat that was the color I wanted and was Not a caster pet. (It was a vanity pet for my third slot once I hit 70.)

This is turning into a nostalgia thread.

We have it so easy now, compared to how it was. Lots of stable slots, no pets that we can't use because of their stats, no going out to tame new beasts to get higher skill ranks and so on.
But I still miss some of the old things though. Like the exitement of getting the fastest attack speed pet, or getting one of the rares with special abilities and so on.

I get that excitement from finally tracking down that unique-skinned rare--one of the few pleasures I have left from the old days! Granted, if I can't bond with the skin I don't care how unique it is, but that's a whole 'nother ball of wax.

I don't know. I'm glad the 'fussiness' of pets is gone, personally.

I hated Broken Tooth. It was a dull, ugly, boring skin, on a dull, ugly, boring cat (who didn't even have a freakin' broken tooth!!!!), but because he was SPESHUL -EVERYONE- who thought they were OMFGLEET had to have him.

To this day, I STILL kill that bastard in the wild because I hate him so much. Hate, hate, hate, hate. >:|
(And I don't feel bad about it because that skin was, is, and always will be, the most common in the game.)

I'dunno...finally finding mine felt like a sort of rite of passage. Silly, I know, but I was a nooblet little level 40-ish who would go on to equip dual Phantom Blades because they looked pretty. Nala still holds a place in my nostalgia, but I am content to say hi now and again when I pass through Badlands. Maybe if they implement the cougar skin on the riding saber model, someday...
