Panda Death Knight

Unread post by zedxrgal »

Am I the only one who thinks pandas should be allowed to be death knight???
Yes I know that doesn't follow lore, the story etc but I think a panda death knight would be extremely cool!!

Vote for panda death knights!!

more than likely, going by Blizzard's track record, some day, Pandaren WILL be permitted to roll as Death Knights.

I honestly don't think Pandas will be able to be DKs.. Simply because they'd have to add a way for a Pandaren to pick their faction, which none of the other races would require. Sure I may be wrong and they would consider such an addition worth it, but I doubt it. :(

well, since DKs basically start out neutral (in a convoluted way. they are in essence factionless during their whole starting zone, or rather, they are neither Horde nor Alliance), I don't see it as particularly complicated to add a single "choose your faction" quest just for Pandaren at the end of the DK quest line.

It wouldn't fit lore at all since discovering of the Panda's in general happened after the shattering and after the demise of Deathwing.

There was a lot of grief I think of even allowing Goblins / DK's back when Cata came out.

But eh, you can hope :)

I'm going to say hell no. Pandaren were rarely, if ever, seen on Azeroth before the Wandering Isle was discovered, and at this point, new death knights aren't being raised. Any 'new' death knights are actually being raised up when Arthas is still alive, and the timeline of the DK starting area spits you out roughly at the beginning of Wrath (and then you go back in time to Outland, but let's skim over that for now).

It was enough of a stretch to allow worgen (goblins not so much, they're everywhere even before Cata). I think adding pandaren would be going too far.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with others that said it just isn't feasible. I know we're used to the DK class being available to every race, but in this case I think it'd better to leave them out. Pandaren have plenty of other good classes to choose from, and it just wouldn't be right for them to be Death Knights.

And from a technical standpoint, it really doesn't make sense to tack anything onto the death knight area for them anyway. That's a lot of work for very little return.

Gonna have to vote "no" like everyone else - while it's always fun to see how a given race would be with zombie minions or would look with an "undead" overlay, I don't think the DK class needs to be available to every race; as others have noted, there isn't even the figleaf of a lore justification that worgen have - it would be more like emperor's new clothes in this case. ;)

Plus if you think about it, even though Pandaren aren't a "hero race" (so to speak), in fact they still are intended to kinda be the banner bearers for MoP in the same basic way that DKs were for wotlk... so allowing a crossover vis a vis Pandaren DKs would muddle things and defeat that purpose.

I'll vote no but will say that at one point they will probably be implemented. People will complain and hell if worgen can be death knights(still dont get it) why not Pandaren? According to Blizz that is. -.-

No no no and no. It would destroy their lore and also the lore of the DKs. The only reason worgens and goblins were permitted was because they both were around since the beginning of WoW, which made it feasible. The only Pandaren seen since Arthas's reign was Chen. All other Pandaren stayed on the wandering isle or pandaria. Arthas never saw either of those nor ever met a pandaren and I don't believe Chen ever went to Northrend.

To be fair, I think as many fledgling Death Knights met their end in Eastern Kingdoms as in Northrend (if not more), but that doesn't change my view. XD;

I'd have to agree with the others that said no. People complain when things dont fit in lore then want things (on offense to anyone who wants them) like DK pandas when they joined well after the fall of the Lich King.

Ya a panda DK would be neat looking but I dont think it should happen in my opinion...but that is only my opinion. :)

Ok. So no one seemed to have got the point to my post.

So after quoting myself from my original post this was meant more as like a fun, putting lore completely aside topic. Lore had absolutely nothing to do with my just thinking it would be cool to have a panda death knight and wonder if anyone felt the same. Clearly I was wrong and way off.

Even worgen arent really feasible since they didnt "Become Sane" per say until AFTER the Lich Kings rein. Goblins have been around however, the only worgen that the Lich King could have seen were the more beastial crazy ones.

I don't care one way or the other, because I wouldn't go with a Pandarean Death Knight if you gave me a year's subscription for free at this point. To put it another way, I can either have this:

Worgen

Image

"FEAR ME!"

Or I could have this:

Pandarean

Image

"UGH! This armor is getting too small again."

I just don't see any appeal for me, but whatever floats everyone else's boat.

Well to be fair, they're only feasible because of the fact Arthas did run into them(or atleast his army did) so he could raise and 'tame them' to do his bidding. The lore dictates they're not the ones directly from Gilneas. The DK ones are from a different town that was ransacked near Shadowfang Keep.
