Beta Class Balance Analysis

Unread post by Rawr »

All pets get:

Crit: 100% of your Crit (Melee/Ranged/Spell individually)
Hit: 50% of your Hit and 50% of your Exp
Exp: 50% of your Hit and 50% of your Exp
Resil: 100% of your Resil
PvP Power: 100% of your PvP Power
Haste: 100% of your Haste (Melee/Ranged/Spell/Regen individually)
Dodge: 100% of your Dodge
Parry: 100% of your Parry
Armor: Various %s of your Armor, based on pet
HP: Various %s of your HP, based on pet

Some pets get, as appropriate to the pet:

SP: Some % of your SP, AP, or RAP, based on pet
AP: Some % of your SP, AP, or RAP, based on pet
RAP: Some % of your RAP, based on pet
Mastery: Warlock and Mage pets get 100% of your Mastery
Mana: Mage pets get 100% of your Mana
Mana Regen: Mage pets get 100% of your Mana Regen

My only gripe is the 50% Hit and Expertise, as a BM Hunter looks like I will need twice as much Hit and Expertise to get the most dps out of my pet.

how is that a problem?

Right now they get 100% of my Hit and we will need to stack Expertise in MoP. In MoP they are getting half of that. So if the Hunter, in MoP, has the max Hit and Expertise they need to hit a boss 100% (with that lame .001 chance t miss) their pet will only be hitting the same boss half the time, that is my problem. Hit and Expertise are 2 different things and cannot be stacked, so 50% Hit + 50% Expertise does not = 100% of......... not sure what your get at here.

Your hit gives 50% hit and 50% expertise.
Your expertise gives 50% hit and 50% expertise.

Your pet receives 50% hit from hit and 50% hit from expertise, which is 100% hit.
Your pet receives 50% expertise from hit and 50% expertise from expertise, which is 100% expertise.

Im assuming that GC's post was that 50% of your hit is the pets hit and 50% of your expertise is your pets expertise.

If we take it literally as my hit is divided in half to feed my pets hit and expertise. Then I would complain that is even more retarded why would one stat give another stat? On a side note my boyfriend thinks pets receiving half the chance to contact is actually a good thing, as blizzard will have no choice but to balance hunters on on use skills and the automation of a pet will decline making all three specs more competitive with each other.

if it's not clear yet: it's additive. 50% from one, 50% from the other. It's another way to /force/ us to use expertise, because otherwise our pets will be hitting only half the time.

Long story short, if you're hit/expertise capped as appropriate to your class, your pets will be too. If they didn't split it like that, then warlock melee pets would have twice as much hit as what they need, and no expertise.
Yeah, Strawberry has the right of it. If you cap, your pet should be capped. My apologies, as that seemed to cause some confusion. Another way to write it would be:

Pet Hit = 50% of Master Hit + 50% of Master Exp
Pet Exp = 50% of Master Hit + 50% of Master Exp
For Hit: Do they get 50% of our hit and 50% our Exp to calculate just hit? and then calculate it again for expertise? Or are our pets not going to be hit capped if we are hit capped. The wording confuses me.
They get 50% of your Hit added to their Hit, and 50% of your Exp added to their Hit. Same for Exp. That means that Hit and Exp are effectively combined into one communal pool for pets. That will make them hit capped if you’re hit capped. Don’t forget that Expertise grants spell hit now.
Ghostcrawler quotes. Maybe this helps!
