Not sure what my set will be yet. I need to look at what former cunning pets will be a bit more raid viable, making it more likely that I would bring one for normal use (Windserpent, etc).
Pet buffs and debuffs... time to start planning.

Since we are much more likely to be at our final "family" set for release now, I think it's a good time to start the stable planning for MoP. Someone over at EJ put together this chart, which should be helpful with that...

Don't bank on Water Striders keeping crit. It might be on the chart, but I'm almost 100% they're not meant to have both spellpower AND crit. It would effectively 'force' BM raiders above a certain level to use one, and so I'm thinking it's not intended.

Fair point. Allthough I don't think it would force us to use one. I am hoping it stays, as it would make them a more useful solo pet combined with a raiding pet. (If it was something besides SP, that was beneficial for hunters, then it would be almost a mandatory pet.)Ziarre wrote:Don't bank on Water Striders keeping crit. Devilsaurs are looking good for a solo BM pet.

You underestimate a raid group's (or guild leader's) peer pressure. The long and short of it is that it's double the buffs of any other pet, and I just can't see that staying--nor would I be particularly pleased if it did stay. And yes, I like water striders. I want one. I just want it to be a balanced one.

Well, my point actually was everyone and his brother brings Crit, so...Ziarre wrote:You underestimate a raid group's (or guild leader's) peer pressure. In a raid, maybe! But consider that they're bringing in Challenge Modes. Bring a water strider to a group that lacked those two buffs...well. With a server wide leaderboard involved, some people will do anything for an edge.
