The demon dogs have zero emotes. I did /pe random and nothing came out. So I am not sure if they were wiped or not before I offered to do them. Kind of a bummer now. :(

Not sure what you mean? Efindel hasn't been able to seperate out dog types, etc, so dogs are dogs right now, and have the same emotes they've always had. It was a nice little start on less cutesy emotes you made, and certainly approaching the more of a middle ground we discussed. I can try and flesh that out, but they are still going to just be dogs until/unless he's able to further subdivide families.

Also you said you had more ideas you wanted to share, so I wasn't wanting to rush you on that.

Sorry. The heat lately has made formulating thoughts a little rough.
When having my demon dogs out they didn't emote at all. Even typing /pe random produced nothing. These are the only "dogs" I have so I am not sure if it's me or not. I'll tame a mastiff or something today or just a random demon dog and see what's up.
But no emotes at all from Lucifur, Baskerville and Ornery.

Ooooh :( Not good. I wonder....yeah, my memory sucks too....did Jorna put my dog stuff in before she retired? Cause I know Efindel only used the latest "Jorna Offical Thingie" when he put it up on Curse. It might be you still need the custom files. I'm of course using them so havent' noticed a problem. But maybe that's it? Hopefully that made sense ;)

Vephriel wrote:/pe random on
is the command that will turn it on. Normally it's on by default, but keep in mind emotes only appear at intervals, so you might not see one right away.

If you want to test to see if it's working just type
/pe random
which should instantly generate an emote. If not then it didn't install properly.

To turn it off type in
/pe random off
Many thanks Veph! As soon as I triggered it using the 'on' command, my pet emoted. Not sure why it was off to start with - only thing I can think of is that I tried to use an old version once, deleted it, then recently re-installed the newest version. Maybe the off setting was defaulted from that...

Anyways, seems to be working, thanks again

I suck. Been so distracted with the electrician here and whatnot I've not been thinking up new puppy emotes. I'll get on that.

/pe happiness on

/pe happiness off

If you have the happiness turned on, the addon will simulate your pet losing happiness by going hungry. If you don't want to see hunger emotes, just keep it turned off and you shouldn't see them.

What Veph said. Feeding them also helps :P The way Jorna made "happiness" work is that the pet, after doing a certain number of emotes, will begin to get hungry. This mimics the old happiness system. Feeding them resets them to happy.

I saw there's a PetEmote addon on Curse - is that the same thing as the addon this thread was made for?

And what about the editor?

Its a long story. Yes, mostly. And I'll explain it further when awake more. Reading the first page of the thread may help some. :)

putting in /pe happiness off yields,
<PetEmote> The happiness of your pet does not affect emote selection.

Yes, that means that the happiness (in other words, hunger), does not effect the emotes, so the addon won't choose hunger emotes as it's not worrying about your pet being hungry.

Couple more demon dog emotes:
___ uses a spike to scratch an itch.
____ hides in a bush staring at you with haunting eyes, tail wagging.
____ nips at your companion (or critter) in play.
___ takes a drink of water making it boil.
_____ chases his /her tail in play. Biting at it wildly.
___ tackles you then bounds off.
___ sense danger and stands watch.
____ sniffs a flower then puffs smoke at it, burning it.
____ chews on you pack hoping to get at some meat.
____ darts from side to side romping around.
____ snarls at a passing ally.
Those are my most recent emotes from my group of hellish hounds that came to me. Will continue to watch and write them as they come.

Those are nice. I hope Efindel is able to differentiate pet types within families (no pressure :P) so that we can use the more "hellhound specific ones" I'm working in incorporate the feel of the more neutral ones into the basic dog family :)

If you'd like I can do hyenas also??? Three of my huntresses have hyena pets whom are much adored.
Granted they have great emotes now but were you looking for more or just for mastiffs?

Right now, I think hyenas are ok. I'll let you know if its time to work on them :D

And the dogs, its not "just mastiffs" We're trying to do a middle ground between mastiffs and demon dogs. :)

Ah. I see. I was thinking they were separate. I can tame a mastiff if you want and try those also if help is needed.

Any emotes you would put for demon dogs would be there also on mastiffs, so if you use the demon dog emotes you wrote, the mastiffs will do them as well, because they are the same family and share emotes.

I guess scratch my emotes then? They were written for the demon dogs. I kind of forgot about mastiffs being in the same family. And I'm not sure what I was thinking in that they could be separated. Unless they'll work for mastiffs to?
