Hardrasaurs- a MoP idea I've kept to myself.

Unread post by swimgremlin »

It's an idea I've come up with and discussed with a RL friend, so I decided to share it.

Hardrasaurs- Ankylosaurus archetype beast. Strong shell plating for protection and a powerful club like tail for fending off enemies. Hardrasaurs existed as part of Azeroth before the sundering, and we're bitter rivals to the Devilsaurs. However Devilsaurs are a patriarch run society, Hardrasaurs are Matriarch run. For every "King" titled Devilsaur, somewhere in the world lies a "Queen" titled Hardrasaur.

Prior to the sundering, the area now known as Un'Goro was a battleground for both type of beasts. Devilsaurs were more aggressive however and had pushed many of the Hardrasaurs to the south of Azeroth where they began to regroup for a counter strike, but was postponed by the sundering. The Majority of he Hardrasaur species had been scattered to Pandaria and smaller southern isles. As time has passed and civilizations have progressed the Hardrasaur line has thinned out.

As a hunter, if you wish to find a rare companion in your travels, be prepared to reignite an old war. Not just any hunter can tame one. You must be a master of beasts to even attempt to make a bond. Hardrasaurs are patient and extremely stubborn, so taming isn't as simple as trying to coax them to your side. To do so, you must have a Devilsaur to reignite old hatred. Only once a Hardrasaur has a Devilsaurs Monstorous Bite debuff can it be tamed. That applies for even the most basic Hardrasaur. Standard Hardrasaurs will be brown with white markings. Tenacity by default.

Rares!:
"Queen Mish", counterpart to "King Mosh". The first rare, a pink Hardrasaur with white markings. She would be immune to Monstorous Bite till at half health, and a stacking shield buff reduces damage taken as she becomes more injured, (so even if other classes try to kill her for funzies it'll become harder as she gets lower on health).

"Queen Krash", counterpart to "King Krush". Red Hardrasaur with green markings. No details atm.

"Queen Drudge", counterpart to "King Dread". Yellow Hardrasaur with purple markings. Immune to all cc except fear. Monstorous Bite can only be applied when feared. Uses Tail Sweep knockdown every 8sec. Tricky cc and timing needed to be used to tame.

Hardrasaurs abilities:

Smack (basic focus dump), growl, cower.

Spiny Shield- Hardrasaur recoils further into it's armor reducing damage taken by 50% and deals minor damage to melee attackers (ret aura esq) for 10sec. Instant, self cast, 1min cd.

Tail Sweep (exotic)- Hardrasaur swings it's massive tail knocking down all enemies in a frontal cone for 2sec. Melee range, instant, 20 focus, 1min cd.

Bad Blood (special)- Hardrasaur will /roar at party or raid member Devilsaur causing it to cower in fear for 1sec. Not usable in combat.40yard range, instant (Devilsaurs will also get this ability).

Archeology:

Hardrasaur club- 2h mace. Requires 600 archeology to find. Equivalent to starting raid tier ittem level.

Hardrasaur Hatchling- Requires 450 archeology to find. Summon and dismiss Hardrasaur hatchling.

Two things:

1. Sorry no pics, I draw like a 1st grader. Here's hoping to good imagination.

2. I thought about making them escape to the Emerald Dream at first, but Pandaria seems more fitting.
