Awwww, it's ok Myzou, just think of the fun and anticipation of having to hunt the pet skin you wanted the most!
Rather than just logging on, walking over to it, /cast tame, and done.

As for the rarest one, it just may have been the trickiest to locate in the beta thus far, doubt it will be any harder/difficult than the others once more information is found

Just frustrating.

Turning a common pet into a rare pet is just ridiculous, even on a beta. At least to me. Others have expressed similar attitudes earlier in the thread.

Instead of making new unique models for the rare spawns, they just took already existing models, took them away from common creatures, and put them as the only ones out there, thus making them "unique."

The pink crane was quite literally the only reason I had to level my hunter in mists. Everything else about hunters is pretty damn blah in Mists compared to other classes. :S

As I said on the game, I tamed every rare in wrath, every rare in cata (on two hunters at that). I have absolutely no desire to camp yet another rare. Especially one that apparently spawns around the entire zone, stealthed, and you can only find them by barely visible tracks.

It's like Shikigami Weapon in FFXI all over again. It took me 3 goddamn years to kill that thing.

I should also note: For months, people complained they couldn't tame a green crane. Yet instead of making the green crane the rare spawn, they turned the most common crane, including the one shown in the Mists of Pandaria trailer, the rare spawn. Cause you know, nothing draws hunters back to WoW like videos of pets they can't tame without hours/days/weeks/months/years of camping.

Well even though it's beta, so far the spawn timers seem to be pretty short, so hopefully you wont have to wait to find this elite as much as all the others you camped in prior expansions.

As for the colour choice, you should be able to see the relevance between your avatars beast name and colour and the little nod towards it with their choice for this one.

All I can do now is wish you happy hunting.

OK, I'm only going to join in the negative derailment of this thread once. Myzou, if you want to make followup posts at this point, and you're quite welcome to have your say, please start a new thread. But I'd suggest you sleep on it instead and see if you feel as frustrated tomorrow. I feel bad that you're so frustrated but this isn't the place for repeat ventings of that.

They haven't taken any common skin and made it a rare. Anyone who takes to heart anything they see in beta should not be playing or reading up on beta. The skin was never common because it was never live in the game. The mobs had temporary skins when they were first implemented and now they've been put the way they wanted. A lot of mobs have changed skins, and more may yet. Remember that you're seeing behind the curtain on game development right now, and not viewing a live game.

And as has already been pointed out, all the "special model" beasts that have become rares were created for other purposes. Assigning the art team to making models purely for hunters alone, and no other purpose, is, I think, too much to expect. Then again, they could have given us the god model tiger or crane, which are a bit different. They may yet. I wouldn't expect the tiger too soon, though, since it's a monk pet and I suspect they wouldn't want to crash the party on that one too soon. Hopefully one day.

<.. will prolly be unhappy if we get no spirit beast. It just seems odd and wierd to have none.. especially with the wolf skoll reskin and arcturis reskin thats.. untameable (whyyyyyyyyyyyy) and monks cant say a thing cause shammies have karoma/spirit ghost totem puppy for a long time, heck they can even turn into it with the glyph. And shammies havent complained, so the new kids on the block cant either the dev team went all out making humanoid rares that drop neat items and a ton of them to.. I think blizzz spoiled us with pets like terrorpene etc so we are expecting more then reskins but thats the name of the game. They made a ton of new models, but you know hunters we like the flashy flashy stuff. Blizz is trying to find a happy medium for everyone, but you cant please everybody.

So still looking for the silkworm?
