Hmm well I was far away from all the mobs but Portent. I was standing on the edge of my flare when he walked in and aggro'd. Stompy was pretty far away from me so that explains why he didn't aggro on me but it doesn't explain why he didn't on Kalli.

Maybe the Mobs are moody at times?
or maybe Stompy just likes you Kal, and didn't want to aggro onto you :lol:

Also Kalli, since I've either gone blind or there actually isn't anything written about it yet, since you said that when a beast spawns it is visible, does that mean you know where they spawn? Are there exact locations or are we still trying to figure this part out? Because if a hunter wanted to camp for one of these and they had exact spawning locations and were visible when they first spawn, this means NPC Scan is still a viable option in getting the pets as long as you're willing to camp it out rather than coming back later and searching for tracks.

Typing is hard; I'll fix the typo. Thanks; that's a terrible place for one. ;)

The thing with the spawn points is that they could change (and quite frankly, I hope they do, just because of things like this). Sitting around waiting for NPCscan to go off on a spawn goes completely against the spirit of the challenge. Camping spawn points on beta is fine, but I really hope that changes before live.

I'm not at all for the camping idea, mind you, I simply wanted to point it out. But the fact that they don't spawn straight into stealth bothers me. If they spawned into stealth straight away instead, this will prevent camping for sure, provided NPC Scan is unable to pick them up while they're stealthed. (I don't know if it can pick them up or not, hopefully not.)

When I tamed Bloodtooth, he didn't even aggro when I started the tame. He just kept walking slowly away from me.

Perhaps they can have them spawn randomly anywhere along their path, giving them no set beginner point to camp.

This is what I would like to see implemented as well. Thanks to Kalli's hard work we know the general path and when tracks do appear they are pretty easy to see. Because of this I think random spawn points as well as pathing lenghts and directions would be a nice challenge.

This is intended behavior, btw. :)

Agreed on the random spawn; it would be lovely (except for Patrannache, dear god). It's not just my hard work; Doomie, Sams, Quiv, and Shinryu in particular contributed to the maps section as well. :) (And thank you Sams for housing everything over on your blog; the first post is already so cluttered.)

Amazing work everyone. I love the videos, Kalliope, added your channel to my subscription so I can keep an eye on what else comes up. Looking forward to my long hunt for Savage once the expansion hits live. Going to have to stock up on some speed potions and a tame glyph just in case. :3

I'm sorta torn. Camping was handy because it meant I didn't have to deal as much with wankers who would wait for me to start taming or what have you. It also meant I knew where to pat around better. I also liked being able to do homework while hunting. :/ But we'll see how it goes. I'm not really a fan of MORE RNG related stuff getting between me and a pet.

Does graphics settings have an effect on footprint visibility?

Checking Bristle (again), his tracks are backwards still.

He still has a gold elite dragon (I assume this is staying but I check anyway).

And even though he was marked, and we didn't enter different areas, he would phase in an out for like 2 seconds ever now and then. I have tracked him through the area he did this before so I know that before this patch, he didnt use to phase. Bug I hope.

I am also tracking to see how long it takes a track to disappear because I dont think I have seen any info on that (I saw the 5-10 estimated range).
