Farewell, stat sticks.

Unread post by Miacoda »

A thread properly saying good-bye to our stat sticks was needed.
So here you go.
Want to give a fond farewell? Or perhaps a "FINALLY YOU'RE GONE" is more your thing? All goodbyes are welcome here.

My dearest polearm.... I will miss you so much. You complimented my transmog so well, it'll feel a bit empty without you! :( We've been through so much together since you came into my life. I will miss staring at you, being all "Awyeah I have a TRIDENT!" I will miss the green glow you share with the world. I will miss not using you except for stats.
Good-bye friend.

I will miss some of my stat sticks. I actually bonded with some of them as much as I did my ranged weaponry. Legacy always comes to mind....such a pretty axe! Others I won't miss because they never dropped for me, like Black Ice, or dropped too late, like Journey's End.

I'll be keeping my old relics, as I have been doing already, but aside from that, I am ready to move on. :)

I'm doing a happy dance in anticipation for ranged weapons showing on our back. :D

My polearm's nice and all, but I don't think I'll miss it terribly. Farewell!

There's a fair amount I'm keeping in my bank as a museum... You can still equip them for loafing around town after all!

And there's a few that I just refuse to give up...

since I have a druid, I'm not gonna miss them cause I got Jetfyre to appreciate them. In a way, I'll pretend my hunters gave them to her as a gift. <3

Oh, and I gotta agree with Legacy there, it was my go-to ALL OF BC and I still love it dearly, even if I never really could have another axe to transmog into it...

It's going to be so weird when I log in again and the stick is gone. But I have so many pretty ranged weapons, I can't wait!

Devotion. I'll always keep you in my bags for my rp outfits, but I'll miss seeing you in combat.

I wish I could miss them, but I won't. Besides, I'll have a Monk that I can run around collecting them on if I really want em for any of my sets.

I'll certainly miss Rassaa's staff, but I can't say Daphine will feel any regret- I have fallen much harder for her ranged weapons! Of course, Ras's bank is stuffed with melee weapons. I'll have a hard time selling those…

A few more stat sticks I wish to say good-bye to. :(

Sarahma's staff goes SO gloriously with her golden transmog, I'll REALLY miss it being a part of the set. :(
Stay gold, sparkle-saff, stay gold..
Image

I never knew why Espen's scythe felt so right with his Gilnean armor, but it did. It felt right at home on his back. I'll miss seeing you around so much, oh great scythe!
Image

My Blood Elf's staff goes great with her bow, and her serpent Slyther loves it, but... I guess at least I have the bow as well. Though I love the style of the staff more. :(
Image

Syleanor's staff I have no care for. I'm happy for ranged weapons to finally be shown on our characters backs, but for Ayleanora especially! So long boring silver pole!
Image

As for my troll, she never mogged it into anything. she just had the polearm from Mobus so... Later Mobus Polearm.

I'll miss Koushiro's Very Manly Staff. Joke aside, it matched the purples very well, under that GREEN GLOW and all.

Farewell Shadowstrike. You looked awesome with Findu's pvp set and made her wasp Sting match even better. You were one of the few exceptions I really loved the green enchant with.
Image

And Farewell Brunnhildar polearm. You made my many blue transmog sets look stunning because you covered the green enchant. I love you, because you are a white item I can use for transmog without having it in my bank. I could buy you whenever I needed you again. I will miss you.
Image

And goodbye Thronwood staff. I got you in a dungeon, you are one of the very few weapons I didn't need to transmog. You looked great on Larkania with her natural green/brown set. You also hid the green enchant pretty good, it didn't look out of place on you.
Image

I will miss the option of having a matching melee weapon for my sets. I have two druids who can use staff and polearm, so they won't be totally lost for me, but it still makes me sad. 6 years of running aroud with weapons on my back I hardly ever used come to an end. They were great accesoires and completed sets for me.

My main hunters both had their favorite stat sticks. My goblin had Devotion. My dwarf had the Stanchion of Primal Instinct. I will miss seeing both, because they are beautiful weapons. My sets won't look complete without them. I'm one of those people that can't go for a hike in the woods without finding a good walking stick first. I imagined they used them as such, as they trekked thru the wilds. It feels like going hiking without a walking stick.
I put all my staves in cold storage, as I can't bear to part with them. They were all so carefully chosen, and in some cases, endlessly farmed.

One thing that worries me about ranged being on our backs is that, as a goblin, many of my bows are taller than I am. How exactly is this going to work? I haven't been able to re-import my goblin to beta, so haven't seen how it looks....
