Question from a wow maybe returnee :P

Over half a year now and the itch is getting harder to resist

I was wondering if it was possible to start over from scratch (lvl1), and keep onces achivement? Not sure how they made shared achivement for the same account...

a part of me wants to delete all my char and start all over again, since the part i enjoyed most in wow is to play from scratch... but another part of me dont want to struggle to do the achivements all over e.g. the insane.. that was hard to get

so questions :
1. are all achivements shared from acccount to account
2. can you "transfer" your tradeskills to your other char?

If you delete the characters, you lose the achievements with them, as well as mounts and other things. Least I think so. Can't transfer tradeskills either.

They're not shared account to account. They're shared by all of your characters. Every achievement your toons have made are account bound(unless Blizz says otherwise)

No, I don't believe so. I haven't tried it myself(I like my high levels!) but I'm pretty sure you need to have those toons to keep them.

Will i will try to keep a distance from the game for now . Its a huge test of my commitiness - but tbh the "only" thing i miss in the games are the hunter side of it.. I miss taming pets, naming them and finding outfits to fit them.. dont miss the groups and such... i liked to play alone with my pets

For now my abstance from wow will continue.. but i still lurk around and look at your pets

Slightly wrong I'm afraid.

If you have 2 characters, let's call them Hunter A and B. A gets the Stratholme mount and the heroic ICC ach in the same night. These are then noted as acquired on your account, and as a result B can use the mount and is credited the points for the ICC ach as well.

Hunter A, for whatever reason gets deleted by the player, but B retains both the ach and the mount, as mounts, pets, titles and ach's aren't really bound to a specific character now like they used to be. Once gotten, they're registered against your Battle.net account. Which includes all WoW accounts under that same battle.net account.

Essentially, once you pick up a mount or an achievement etc, you have it forever now, and you could wipe all the characters on your WoW account, create a new level 1 and they'd have access to all the points and mounts etc (given level requirements).

Just make sure to log into every character of yours first before deleting them. Do not just make a level 1 toon and then delete all the characters.

(say if your old mage had Time Lost, you would have to log onto them first in order to "unlock" time-lost for your account)

Yep, indeed. You need to make sure you've logged into each character at least once for all their ach's, mounts, titles etc to apply to the entire account.

Also keep in mind that certain achievements will not share (like PvP ones; unsure about the Insane) and others won't share until your character is the correct level (like certain titles don't unlock until level 80).

I don't think it works like that. My friend tried doing that and he lost the achievements/mounts he had from his former main. I'd imagine when you delete your character, the data goes with it. So unless that was a freak accident(blizz refused to restore it too saying they couldn't cause the data was gone, atleast that's what he told me.), I wouldn't recommend doing it til we get a blue poster to confirm. Better safe than sorry, imho.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. Looking at my achievements 99% of them say "Earned by Bonitamuerte" (something like that), but I can still earn them on my alts. So I just assumed that if for whatever reason I deleted my main all of my achievements she had earned would go away unless I had earned them on a new toon as well.

You could always just start fresh on a new server. Don't play on the serves where you higher toons are.
Myself, I am an altaholic, I love leveling so I have a lot of toons across different servers at different stages/levels. I just really love the leveling, once my characters hit lv 85, I tend to stop playing them. (asides from a select few).

I'm that way too.

And yeah, Bonita, I saw that too so that's another reason why I believe it would go away once you delete your character(which deletes the data).

Yeah play on anther server. You will still have the mounts/pets tho if I'm correct.

I can go test that right now if need be. I do have alts on other servers that I don't touch often.

I really whish that transmorg sets would be account bound too - i put alot of effort into grinding transmorg gear on tårnfalk and i would really hate to do it again... not to mention that i probally wouldt do it again

If i ever start playing again it would only be hunters i would play, since i plan to cut human interaction out of the game - well as much of it there is possible - and hunters to me are the best solo in the game.. plus the pets are just lovely

You'd have to send a toon over there but they've always been account bound.

what about transmorgsets? they havent introduced a accountbound thingie to that yet?
