Re: Where The Wild Things Are (MoP rare information)
I was updating my NPCScan for MoP rares and found this. Muddy Tracks has an NPC ID of 52171. I haven't updated my beta in a long while, so if anyone else can test if this is the tracks left by Bloodtooth by entering it in NPCScan that would be awesome.
It's the only tracks I found with an NPC ID. The others are spells only right now on Wowhead.
A rare visitor to this forum now that I don't play WoW anymore, but forever a Petopian.

That's an interesting possible lead on NPCscan! That'll be fun, since it only finds (or might only find, rather) a track initially, not the pet for you.

I (and probably everyone else) must have missed the map because it was only posted as an attachment - and out of sight, out of mind. :/ Sorry about that - I'll add credit, of course!

Re: Where The Wild Things Are (MoP rare information)
Yeah, I figured that would be the case. *blush* In addition to the fact that I posted it in a different thread. So ultimately it's my own damn fault for being so subtle about it. XDKalliope wrote::hug: Golden! Probably the same reason that I've been bummed out that someone who clearly got their info from this thread got all the credit/hits for "finding" Hexapos and Stompy before finally crediting us.

Haha I don't blame you, really! <3 It was in a whole another thread and just an attachment, I didn't even think to make it visible on the post. Yours is smoother, that's for sure. :3 I really should've posted it in this topic too, would've saved you over an hour's worth of following him around. For that I apologize.
Edit: You do deserve credit too! Just because it was found twice doesn't make your effort any less valuable.

Long time no see, Petopians!
I haven't been on here in a while because of personal reasons
but I'm pre-loaded and ready for MoP to get here!
I saw this and had to watch both videos. I've always been an avid tamer and am so stoked to hear that we're the only ones able to track these beauties down.
I was getting so tired of griefers and unnecessary rare murder from non-Hunters or Hunters who already had it and thought it was funny.
Cannot wait to try these babies out myself.
I am certainly aiming for the beautiful white tiger. I gotta add that to all my kitties.
Unfortunately with new pets comes the stable cleaning...
:C Sad day but I'm sure it'll be worth it.
I think of it as setting them free again
Being a Hunter is like Pokemon.
I gotta tame em all!
It's a good thing I love Pokemon, too!

Re: Where The Wild Things Are (MoP rare information)
In other news, is anyone else doing the same thing as me and not looking at the maps in much detail? Because I've looked at them but never memorized the paths or anything. I think it'll be oh-so much fun to go hunting for them myself. If it does turn out that NPC Scan can either pick up the mob itself or the tracks, I'll use that as my guide, but nothing else! (Unless I get totally lost!)

And on a personal note, it seems that Stompy wants to be in my stable on live too. Dammit. I do love that goat. T_T

And we won't have to share them with other classes who need the kill for an achievement! I just moved back to my original very busy server and am trying to console myself with these facts!I've always been an avid tamer and am so stoked to hear that we're the only ones able to track these beauties down.

Which is nice. I'm glad Blizzard learned from Wrath that having people fight for pets/rares tends to end in a lot of hair pulling, poo flinging, keyboard smashing, soda chugging, energy drink sipping, eye twitching and other various physical ailments - for hunter and non hunter alike. Not to mention all of the griefing.Sesamee wrote:And we won't have to share them with other classes who need the kill for an achievement! As a bonus, those who seek treasure rares or whatever can now squish them guilt free. And yes, I have seen a lot of 'oops... that was just a tamable rare... sorry...' posts and folks who just didn't realize that yes, it's a rare, no it doesn't have cool loot. This way, they can smish for loot without worry. And I know that rare hunting is popular for some non-hunters, too.

You do the work of finding the rare and unmasking it, then taming.
Someone can still see and kill it in the time it's in your flare.
It's really not changing anything except the fact they can't find it until you do.

And if you flare out a beast with hostiles around, then it's on you for doing that. You have a choice this way.Myzou wrote:Except it really does nothing.
