Help! Is pet armor/health hotfixed?

Roughly over the last hour (in between logging out to check auctions) I noticed my lowbie hunter no longer struggling to keep her tenacity hyena alive. Said hyena has roughly the same armor points as an equivalent level plate wearing tank, I asked a local prot paladin.

I recently transitioned her out of Blasted Lands, where she struggled, to Hellfire Peninsula, where the struggle went away. I am not entirely certain pets were actually hotfixed, or if the disparity between zones is just that big. Can anyone else confirm/deny if they're having an easier time than before, within the last hour and now as opposed to yesterday or earlier in the day?

I tanked Maly, TK and Ony this week and found my pet to be holding his own much better then he did the week before. I no longer had to spam heal him just to keep him up long enough to use his CDs again. I think they fixed it.

My pets are still being summoned at whatever health % they had when i dismissed them though. :/

Yes, armor scaling was fixed. Pets now get (I think, someone correct me if need be) 170% of master's armor.

I remember reading somewhere that recent changes have made mobs in Blasted Lands tougher than mobs in Hellfire.

My Turtles and Beetle have about 32k armour. I solo'd Ony and tanked her with Pearl, my white beetle, and didn't even need to keep Mend Pet up constantly, as she was taking very little damage really.

Yep, 85 pets have 30k+ armor now instead of the 16-18k they had pre-hotfix.

I promptly started attempting to solo Malygos and Onyxia in celebration--and eventually succeeded!

oooo I'll have to try that. I really want that azure drake for my paladin.

I couldn't do it before 5.0.4--BM didn't have enough self-healing, and I was too awkward with MM to deal damage effectively. Spirit Bond helps tons with BM-solos!
