CRZ and you ...The new way to tame those rare

I didn't say it was meant to solve those problems. I said it doesn't solve them. CRZ was apparently a huge technological undertaking, even for a company like Blizzard, and seeing how broken it is I'm sure it's sucking up a lot of time and resources. At least it better be! IMO it was silly to create such a huge thing just to get a few extra people in a zone! But if we're stuck with it they at least better fix it and make it work right.

I wish they would have put the time, effort, and manpower into solving the real issues with low pop servers instead of dumping so much into a feature that is lacking in so many ways. I realize what CRZ was intended to do but clearly neither the concept nor the implementation was done properly.

however, since the original post references creating a level 1 character and doing a raid invite to "cheat" the CRZ choice of servers to gain access to said rares, and that it has been demonstrated that this is, in actuality, not possible, the entire original topic is moot.

It could be done with a level 10 or higher character, I believe, so it's not completely moot for that reason.

However, Blizzard is going to be looking into stopping that sort of behavior, so on that front, it is.

i just hate how cross realm zones add even more animinity to the people who like to troll. no reprecussions being a dbag since the troll is probably being a jerk to someone cross zone and will have no problems acting like a nice person to those on their home realm.

same way that one will never find an intelligent comment on a youtube video or a cnn.com article.


cool thing about rares though, it can be used for the positive with this method. you don't really need a army of level 10s, just have a few higher level friends on other servers to help look for rares.

When cross-realm is implemented in the Panda zones eventually (i would guess), it would be cool to have a Cross-Realm rare finding thread. Maybe it would even be beneficial now. A way that petopians can posta new topic "hey does anyone need Loque? He's up right now, US ~ Horde side Royi#1234"


Halaa would be fun again though with CRZ, that screenshot made me want to try that out again (i loved halaa when it was current)

While I am not a fan of CRZ keep in mind it won't be that horrible once MoP hits and there is actually new stuff to do. Right now people are bored to tears and actually out in the world doing stuff. And as for using groups to hit up rares... It really don't affect me. I have all the rares I want and I highly doubt I am the minority here.

The nice pic of the Halaa pvp was great. I had it on my battle group for about two days before it turned into deadzone again.

I was just thinking that myself. It took me 3 hours to get out of it and that's without taking a break.

It's an interesting idea, but:
- you need a friend with real id on other server, all of my WoW friends are on my server
- you can have different accounts in battle.net account and use real id summon from character on one account to other character from different account, min lvl for this is 10. It's about 1.5-2 hours to make lvl 10 character. The problem is - you need a full, not free-to-play account for full options. Yes, you can make a group/raid with that free-to-play character, but only character from full account can summon. So you need to pay for 2nd account.
- same for dk, you need to pay for 2nd account for full options.
Tonight, I made a character on my linked free-to-play account, lvled that character to lvl 10, made a group with character from my full account character and use a tool “Summon linked friend”. Characters were on different realms. Now, even after 9 hours, even not in a group anymore and not in friend list anymore, my new low lvl character still is on that realm and I can't find an option how to return her back to original realm. That is strange and fun.

see edit, i did it with higher level toons, i assumed it worked for level 1's my bad. Also, it might of been hot fixed not 100% sure. I do not need the rares and was doing to this to help guildies and well..for other mischievous reason (luv's to gank, just because i can never win in a fair fight!)

Just wanna state for the record.. I hate CRZ. I enjoyed zones finally going quiet after the rat race of newness. If I want peeps around, I'll go to newer, busier zones, or town. Thanks Blizz for shoving nonending traffic down my throat. Thank you, that is all. -grumble-

The CRZ is strictly meant to populate areas that nowadays are down to few to none players. It's meant to keep areas that aren't high traffic more like they're meant to be. I joined my first and longest lasting guild by interacting with people within zones. Back when places like the Wetlands were teeming with people actually interested in the quests and stories, not just power-levelling through to get to cap level. I know that cross-realm players cannot form guilds, but it doesn't mean you can't make friends, and go back to quest with them later.

Well, too be blunt, who gives a crap about the old zones now?

If the true motivation of this was to make low-end zones more populated, then Blizz really is out of touch, either that or there are diametrically opposed camps there, because they routinely make other changes to make low zones meaningless anyway.

I was talking to a server-admin friend of mine, and we're pretty convinced that one of the real reasons they are doing this is to virtualize servers, so they don't have to ever admit to consolidating realms when in fact that's exactly what they are doing. There won't be any more realm servers anymore, instead, groups of realms will be on one server farm, probably by battlegroup, where server resources can be applied dynamically as realm populations change. This makes CRZ more effective.

But last night I watched in Storm Peaks as 5 hunters from 4 servers camped Skoll. Sure enough, he spawned and was killed. Guess that is "working as intended"

Agreed. Cause Taluwen definitely would never had been Garrosh's cannon fodder....

Agreed. I mainly play horde. I do not support Garrosh, or his war machine. Nor do I beleive in just ganking alliance. At least not for a good reason, such as they're mucking around killing in Org. I am typically just as likly to help a fellow alliance hunter as I am a horde hunter.

Well, I'm going to presume you did not read my comments on the Theramore scenario, which are written from a Horde player's perspective. If you wanted to discuss in-game actions, then discuss them in the appropriate thread.

(by the way: before being "offended" by Horde players' actions in Theramore, be offended for the survivors of Camp Taurajo... oh that's right! there ARE no survivors of the massacre at Camp Taurajo.)

Whatever my motivations in the game, or rather, my CHARACTER'S motivations, it does not warrant disrespect on the forum.

I've seen as much "ganking" and disrespectful behaviour from inconsiderate Alliance players. Neither side is innocent.
