Firefrost, you really don't like foxes, do you? lol I think there's therapy for that. (just good natured ribbing, no offense meant)

Looking at the detail on the foxes and hounds, I hopeful they are meant to be pets.

I loathe, despise, deteste and generally wish to commit fox genocide. I cannot stand them.

Look I can barely stand spiders, scorpions and a few other insects/aracnids myself outside of a few cases and creatures. But I wouldn't wish them all dead- and even tho I loathe some of these things irl I adore their wow counterparts.

Also btw. Ever seen the Domesticated silver foxes?

Huh. Seems weird to see a wild animal acting like a breed that's been domesticated for hundreds of years. Beautiful creatures, though.
And Firefrost, if you don't mind me asking, why do you hate foxes so much? Just curious.

They have murder I'd estimate 30 of my pets, possibly more, between I'd say no more than four of them. I actually saw one across my road and frightend the hell out of it, but I'd not had any large blunt objects nearby unfortunately.

That is exactly what I was thinking. That hound would be perfect for a human hunter. Makes much more sense for humans than having them start with a wild animal.
I actuallly highly doubt that. They have been spotted in the Worgen starting zone, labeled as Gilnean Mastiffs.
Although Worgens can be human. :)

Mastiffs are amazing dogs, I've owned 6 in my life. But I know how to train a dog and I take every dog I have to classes for socialization. The sad thing is most of the bigger burly breeds get crap owners, who don't socialize or train them. :(

I have a mastiff myself. :) Well, he's a cane corso cross. ^^ Doesn't quite have the jowly face that those mastiffs have, but he's a very handsome boy.

Ok you do understand there are measures you yourself can act upon that doesn't involve hapless slaughter of animals that probably are just trying to live? IE get a dog. Don't let your cats out. Don't let small animals out. Don't leave them unattended. Call animal control. Set humane traps. And if all else fails Call animal control and take responsibility for it.

Honestly it's NOT the foxes fault for following instinct. It's YOUR fault, ESPECIALLY if you've lost so many pets!

Edit: Also by dog I mean a dog dog, not a little yappy dog. Most dogs will NOT tolerate creatures in their yards/territories, including foxes. When my family brought home Wolfie, a very, very big wolfhound pup, he scared the hell and scared the hell away, a pack of coyotes that used to prowl the neighborhood.

Just by barking at them. They never came back.

Cane Corsos are beautiful dog, thats for sure. ^_^ I never had a purebred but I had a Cane Corso/pit bull mix that was taken from dog fighter, the shelter was going to put him down because according to them "two dangerous breeds, with a dangerous past", luckily the person who ran everything wasn't ignorant. He had his trainer friend evaluate me and she said I would do fine and they let me take him home. Never had a problem with humand or dog aggression. He had the everyone is my friend mentality. I lost all my picture of him and my other dogs when my computer died half a year ago. Thats why I always get new memory cards now, I don't upload and delete. I lost photos of 13 dogs. :( The only old dog of mine I was able to keep a picture of was Bella one of my Neapolitans.
This is a picture of her when she was 8 months old, I only have 3 pictures of her left.

If anyone notices, yes she has cherry eye. My friend got her out of a trash can.. Literaly someone dumbed her in a trash can along with 3 siblings. He heard them whine when he walked by and took them home. When they were old enough he gave them to worthy homes that knew the breed. He kept her, but his house caught on fire when he moved, and he didn't have insurance. So I told him I would take her. The cherry eye was fixed, $3000 dollars later.

I'm terribly sorry to hear that, Firefrost. I have the same visceral reaction to opossums. I'd appreciate it, though, if you kept your hatred for foxes to a single thread -- possibly on the real pets forum? -- instead of responding to each post about a potential new fox hunter pet. ;)

Ryai, I find this reaction rather over the top, even from you. Let's make helpful suggestions instead of blaming, okay? And perhaps not on this thread.

I agree, a responsible owner would not let that happen. It is easy to prevent.
I've been attacked 5 times by Labrador Retreivers, and my dogs have been attacked 6 times. Why? Every time some idiot was letting the dog run loose, and the dogs were either human or dog aggressive. Do I hate labs? Do I want to kill them? NO I want to kill the irresponsible owners. (That was not pointing towards anyone on this forum, that was pointed towards my neighbors.)

I still have heavy doubts about those Mastiffs. If they are friendly to Alliance only and none at hostile to them... Then they won't be tamable since that wouldn't be fair.

As far the Foxes go, companion pets or hunter pets, I'd love them either way. <3 I see Red Foxes around here sometimes and they're adorable. <3

Also, foxes will sometimes take pets, so it's understandable to dislike them in some areas, but wish a genocide on them? No, that's wrong. Foxes will take small dogs and cats because they're fit within the size of mammals that they'll hunt. It's instinct. They have to eat to survive and sometimes they'll take small pets. It's up to the owners of the pets to know the facts and keep them safe.

Aw, I hate that mentality. :(

My boy's a cane corso with rottweiller/shepherd cross. Some people would say that's 3 dangerous dogs in one, but he's the sweetest thing. Luckily since I have young nephews I was able to expose him to children from the start so he's wonderful with kids.

Actually the mastiff in that photo is more than likley part of a quest I read about in the Worgen starting area. You have ot go kill some elite, and they give you a whistle to summon the mastiffs to help. Thats more than likley why they are friendly. I'll try to find the link to that.

He is cute veph! He's got a sweet face.
I don't mind the change, maybe I'll start a thread in the real pets section about mastiffs or mastiff mixs. xD

I'm sorry it's just I live in a place where people are so irresponsible with pets; and they go thru so many puppies, kittens and adult animals a year. It just, stings when people try and blame others for the fact that their animals are sick. I mean all of my pets are rescues, and I've seen cats killed by dogs here. and heard it. Just, I'm sorry but I didn't like what I was hearing of 'It's not my fault it's the foxes fault and I just want all foxes to die' :/

I didn't mean to sound over the top I was just trying to emphasize it wasn't the foxes fault; it's the owners fault, the owner needs to take responsibility of the animals. It's why while I love my creatures to bits, I know I can't rescue anymore as I can barely take care of the ones I have now. It's no one elses fault but my own and my fathers :/

Again I'm sorry.

Rats! You beat me to it! Ah well... I'd love to have a Corgi (Pembroke or Cardigan!) in-game... I have a Pembroke and I know she'd make an awesome hunter pet! Hehe :)
And I believe I said it in the Alpha thread but: I absolutely love the red fox! And I do hope they at least consider giving us more stable slots.
