i followed the footstep backwards like everyone said... then they stopped and never respawned.... what does this mean... no one else was in the area that i could see. I'm really upset.

Look really hard. If its on an incline it can partially disappear in the hill. He pats around in a circle then across the map. He's there you just gotta find where the tracks picked back up. Good luck.

I followed the tracks for awhile and kept loosing them here and there. When I couldn't find them I would range forward and see if they were in the next logical area from the map and the backwards direction the prints were facing. There were some areas, like near the jade tigers and the big snakes, that I kept loosing sight of his tracks. But using the map from the stickied topic about them, I was able to eventually corner and tame him-it just took me a good 30 mins because I had such a hard time tracking him.
