Okay, I'll be honest and straightforward. First of all, I think hunters are very lackluster in MoP. Especially in the first tier. The PvP armor is 'so-so' to me. The challenge armor is nice, but reminds me of WoTLK gear upgraded, and tier 14 is just outright bland to me. (in comparison to tiers like death knight t14)
But since we're in the 'pet discussion' section, I'll tap into the pet family "keg".(

I loved the usual "old beast, new family" they have as a trend with new expansions and now in MoP in the shape of Fen Striders and Basilisks.
I like Water Striders too. Especially the critter version has its charms and hell, even some Quilen have their own appeal; even if I downrighted hated them back when they had their cat skeleton.
But none of it manages to.. you know? Drive me - call out to me. I like roleplaying, I might join a raiding guild soon and I don't care too much about PvP.
But partially, the RP-part of me loves the visual appeal of the new pets every new expansion and every expansion, there has been at least one new pet out of all of them -- while they were not all impressive -- to my taste.
As many here know, this expansion; I was hoping it would be Kunchong. I love silithid colossi very much, but Kunchong are just ten thousand times better in every aspect. I set myself up for disappointment by thinking "Well, they share a model and family type with already tameable animals and they make sense as beasts. I'm sure Blizzard will make them tameable before the end of the beta.".
But the above wasn't the only underwhelming part. It's just that no pet gives that "oomf" value, while there was so much potential. Exceptional potential, actually. But we end up with things like goats, silkworms and porcupines.
Don't get me wrong. I appreciate that all of you love those pets, and I even inadvertently started liking goats more and more, but I was hoping for Mushan, Yaks and Kunchong to join. It would've been easy, (I would imagine, I can't say that for sure.).
But yeah, I really think Blizzard could have offered us much more in the sense of pet families and models, and it would have made me rush to 90 if I could tame two of the above three animals. Now, I'm just leaving my hunter stabled until I find something to get excited over in a hunter perspective.
Of course, it's unfair to only mention negative things, so I'd like to say that I love the new rare hunting system; even if the tracks are still backwards. (lols

I also really adore the new tiger models, even if I'm not a cat lover.
And of course, as mentioned before, I like the water and -fenstriders.
