Tracking Tricks...
Hi all,
I just thought to share a tip I've been using to good effect if you are planning on doing some tracking:
Turn your graphics quality slider to "Low" then set your "Environment Detail: Ultra" and "Viewing Distance: Ultra" ("water detail: Fair" to remove that shimmer effect metioned by another poster)
This has the effect of dulling most of the surrounding graphics and making the tracks stand out fairly clear.
I used this to good advantage when tracking Glimmer through the graphically busy Cherry blossom area.
Hope this helps my fellow trackers !

Not a bad idea! I'll have to try that sometime.

I have this setup as well & I had an extremely hard time tracking Glimmer through the lush foliage... had to wait till it was in an open path.

Re: Tracking Tricks...
Here is another helpful hint: Have a spot available to tame the beast you are tracking because if you flare it, trap it and try to tame it without an open slot it de-spawns and all its tracks fade away. =(
Yes I did, shut up. lol

Haha, actually I almost did that with Stompy. I was so excited to see him that I'd forgotten I was at max stable capacity with the temporary goat I had tamed earlier. Stupidly I went and dismissed it instead of abandoning it and by the time I called it back out and abandoned it, Stompy had walked out of the flare area and it took a couple more minutes to find him again (there were a few opposite faction players riding back and forth so I was trying to play dumb like I was just hanging around, casually shooting flares left and right for no reason). I should've just hunter's marked him but my ability to think had taken wing and flown away by that point.Jäysee wrote:Here is another helpful hint: Have a spot available to tame the beast you are tracking because if you flare it, trap it and try to tame it without an open slot it de-spawns and all its tracks fade away. =(
