Quick question about Glimmer
I found that the phasing of the zone was too tricky for me, so I am camping a spot at the southern end of the trail. I've been sitting here for about 45 minutes now though and I'm wondering how long it'll take for the mob to patrol the full path? I saw the tracks earlier so I know the mob was up and as far as I know no one is looking for it on my realm at the moment.
I'm nervous about being off the path or something.

I think it might be around an hour? That's my guess. I can't say for sure, but he has quite a long pathway so definitely give him some time to make a full lap.

Re: Quick question about Glimmer
Sorry for double post, thought I'd share my favourite spot for "camping" him.
I like this corridor at 51, 54 that leads southwest from the Arboretum. It's walled on both sides, and at this particular spot there's a pair of trees. He walks directly down the center. If you flare in between them you'll have him covered 100% when he goes this way.
Of course anywhere along his path works for flare camping, I just like this location because there's no hostiles, and I like the trees/corridor for knowing I'm definitely in the right spot.

That's actually where I camped my Glimmer, Vep. I recommend that area.

Re: Quick question about Glimmer
About an hour ago I saw his footprints disappear around the log down passed the Arboretum leading down to where they are saying to flare.... I just hit 90 earlier and figured the path wouldn't be phased for me, but it still was... so I went to the point where he crosses the river and stood there flaring for no longer than 10-15min and he just walked right into my flare...
So he is a lot faster than most people think if he can go from the start of the phased area to the end in less than 15min.
(btw... the footprints do not stay around if he has walked a distance away from them, so I know he wasn't too far into the phased area when I decided to head to the river.)
edit: In regards to where Veph said to flare at... I don't think that little small area is actually phased like the rest of the area is... because I can stand there and watch certain people just appear and disappear right in that area, so you can bottleneck Glimmer right there too.

Re: Quick question about Glimmer
Thank you very much for the helpful feedback everyone! I waited for about an hour and a half but with no luck, so either someone tamed it while I was camping a spot or I was off the path.
I will now try your spot Veph! Thanks for the map and screenshots, they really do help.

Re: Quick question about Glimmer
Yeah, I have a feeling the corridor isn't phased, I've never had trouble seeing his footprints while in it, both before and after questing in the Jade Forest. The phasing starts right AFTER the corridor, but inside it should be safe.Pent wrote:edit: In regards to where Veph said to flare at... Fond memories of that corridor on the beta with half a dozen flares going off.

Re: Quick question about Glimmer
Any spot where you see a footprint away from aggressive mobs is good to flare camp. If you can see the footprint, that means he isn't phased (I'm assuming). If the foot print is located at the end of it's route and shows it's about to turn back, that place is the best. I found a print a tiny bit further to the end of Glimmer's route in that same corrider (between a broken log and some bamboo), and stood there for about 10 minutes before he walked through again. Just flare right on where the footprint was, you can't lose... unless of course, someone gets him before you!

Reporting back in after a faction change!
I went to check out the spot you recommended Veph, and believe me, I only had to flare two times when the precious pal already walks straight in for a tame! Thank you so much for the helpful tips & tricks everyone. He is beautiful. <3
