Quillen family skill

Unread post by pop »

I <3 quillen's exotic skill, one of the handiest pve tool ever!

Having said, the 5% crit buff however is shared by so many families. Instead of the crit buff , why not quillen have a 'stone skin' skill, same as turtle's and beetle? I think that skill would make more sense for a quillen to have.

I just got my blue Portent and ran Scholomance for the first time, it's awesome to be able to save a group by having battle-rez! Picked up our healer like 3 times, she kept dying in that fight where the soul chases you.

I finally feel like hunters are overpowered!

I like that they have a crit buff. It's the best buff for us so it means I get to use mine a lot! And yeah the brez has come in handy many times. I was bored and did a random pug last night and we got the "Mosh Pit" ach by total accident, and a bit of fail, but would have wiped had I not swapped pets and brought out Guzou real fast. <3

Just have to voice my agreement here. Hippomenes has gotten to res people both in PvE and PvP encounters! I'm so proud of him, especially for the PvP one, since it meant keeping blacksmith in early-game AB.

I was always looking forward to the bres, but to see it in action is something else.

Uhm... I don't much care for their main ability. It's easy to over look xD I just bring Regal (amethyst Portent) wherever I go most of the time when I know I'm instancing. My instant team usually consists of my Cobalt and Amethyst Portents, Savage, Glimmer, and an armored raptor to cover basic buffs/debuffs. But I did get to pull out Regal once to brez a healer. But I like my other three pets so much that I wouldn't much care of they had something more useful (maybe the 10% attack speed?). I'd still prefer one of my other three, even if the other buffs are covered, just because I like them more >_> And in instancing, it doesn't matter too much. Besides, Glimmer already covers the 5% crit and gives something to the casters to boot, so... xD Yeah. I only use the Quilen for the brez.

The buff is a good one, no doubt, but I do wish it gave us something different. We've already got several other pets bringing that buff, so it'd be nice to see an exotic give us, say, the attack speed buff like the hyenas do.

As an aside, how exactly do we pronounce Quilen? Is it phonetic? Is it like "kee-yen?" "Kirin?"

In my head I tended to pronounce it 'quill-en' which sort of stuck out of first impression, though I expected the correct pronunciation would be something like 'kil-in'. However, in the Mogu'shan Vaults raid there is a bit of dialogue from Lorewalker Cho where he says quilen, and he pronounces it "kwy-len". So...*shrug* ._.

I tend to ignore how blizz sounds words out sometimes >.> Its all in the accent i think, or just how the person prefers to prounounce something. So i usually yell at them in my mind 'no! no! its pronounced <name>!'

Yes! :D The brez is so handy. I ended up rezzing another hunter in a scenario where we had no healer. Yay quilens.

I've been pronouncing it "key-yen".

I really don't worry about pet buffs in raids since they all get cancelled out anyway. Therefore, I always run with the pet I like the best. Previously it has always been a Spirit Beast for the healing ability which has saved me many times and also the tank on a couple of occasions. I'm sure the Quilen battle rez will come in handy when I finally get in an instance again. I hate pugging and only 6 people in my guild have reached 90 so far. Our Guild Master is only on 87 so it's going to be a while. I guess I'll have to break down and do pug 5 mans to get my gear level up.

On a side note, I'm undecided on what is the best pet buff for soloing, the 5% Crit or the Mastery buff which plays out to 10% more pet damage since I play almost exclusively as BM. I've been going with Crit since my unbuffed Crit% is only 12.5 right now but I also notice a big difference with the Mastery buff, especially when I get in multiple mob situations and Lynx Rush with the added Mastery is awesome then.
