Actually, it's a known trend (at least on these forums) that the easier a pet is to obtain, the more players will rush to abandon the originals. So you'll probably see fewer other Chromies of either origin.Schlager wrote:Awww, really cheapens my Chromaggus, I guess more ppl will enjoy him but I had to work for that tame! Re: New Non-Pandarian Tameables in Patch 5.1
I actually abandoned mine right before Mists launched because I hadn't bonded with him after all that time; after pining over him and rejoicing when he was finally tameable (go figure). Gezz wasn't so much an issue, I've loved her since before we could tame her because of level, got her as soon as I could- back when she had the entrance animation- back before she was made untameable for a time- and I still love her to this day and will never abandon her. I don't think we will see tons more around, as those who want her could have gotten her (and probably have) once she was made tameable again. Honestly, with the HUGE influx of new pets and such, I don't think you will run into gargantuan amounts of players with the same exact pets. Maybe one or two here and there. I could be wrong, but that's my assumption.Kalliope wrote:Actually, it's a known trend (at least on these forums) that the easier a pet is to obtain, the more players will rush to abandon the originals. Re: New Non-Pandarian Tameables in Patch 5.1
I then broke it up into the families it provided. I am hoping I havent overlooked something obvious here.
I checked it against OP's current list. Everything except Needlefang and Dark Stalker is present in this pic. The mmodb has Dark Prowler so maybe it used to be Dark Stalker used to be Prowler but they changed it. Needlefang could also be one of the other ravagers just with a name change? who knows.
Theres also a couple oddities, like the murderous blisterpaw that didnt make the 4.1 cataclysm rare revamp, and crystalfang is listed as a shalespider in the mmodb but its a regular spider on live? IDK i hope this is of some merit. I imagined a pic would be less invasive than a giant list. I have the full text list and a full list broken up in families if anyone is interested.

Crystalfang is indeed on the PTR as a Shale Spider. She's slightly northeast of Hogzilla, and her portrait when targeted indicates that she's the red skin, but she hasn't been reported or marked on this thread because as far as I can tell, she's presently unreachable. When that changes, I'll include her.

Thanks for crosschecking the list! I wonder which of those is our silkworm.

Seems that way, except the shale spider is Crystalfang and the spider is Crystal Fang. Still a little odd, though, admittedly.Quivering wrote:Is crystal fang one of the rares that was removed with cata and not readded? it used to be a spider according to wowhead: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=10376
