Something I want to share about taming Hydras

Unread post by grafx »

We have a blizzard employee in our guild. (Not a joke, actually has proof and has messaged me from work with Blizz tag on name ingame) regardless, hydras came up in conversation and said "only reason you can't tame them is because theyre just waiting on new models, once they're done you will get them. Strings were done awhile ago"

I think we all knew eventually it'd happen, but it's nice to know its just a model issue. no one has to believe me, but i want them as bad as u do! ive been a petopia member (thought i dont post much) for 2 years. not here to troll, just share!

GC already said something like that though on twitter. He said he wasn't happy with the models but he never said if we would get them or not. So we've known about the model issue for some time now. :)

Also um...I'm not sure if you're allowed to say your guildie is a Blizz employee. I was under the impression they had to keep that hush hush or they could get into big trouble.

Cool :) In this of all places people shouldn't be too surprised if someone knows a dev. And thanks for the info :) It's pretty consistent with GC's claims, and also stuff I heard. But I didn't know they were actively working on a model revamp at the moment. I'm looking forward to it :) Though the time we found that so-called "hydra" in the MoP beta and it was just an arcane wyrm it did make me wonder if they were considering something like that for the heads.

Seconding what Wain said far more eloquently than I would have. xD I'm happy that the team's actively figuring out the problems with the animations. :)

I've known a dev too but she told me I had to keep my trap shut about it cause Blizz states it's not supposed to be public info or something when they're playing. So that's the only reason I was concerned. Didn't want someone to lose their jobs. Kinda like how 'Noah' lurks here but we don't know which dev he really is. 'Noah' is just the name we gave him I think. So yanno....wasn't trying to be mean....I was just concerned. ^^;

arcane wyrm heads? Hmm....interesting.

Yep, that was my fault. xD

His anonymity is more likely because he's devious and sneaky than anything else, but that's just a wild guess based on Bombyx tactics. ;)

Always good news to hear that there's some work being done! :) Thanks for the info. I've made peace with the fact that we weren't likely to get hydras soon, but I will always remain hopeful about the future.

As for the Blizz employee, the OP didn't mention character, realm, or guild names, so I hardly think any identity was compromised either way. :P

Not sure I want one after all. I mean before MoP we only had Wolves and Devilsaurs for the 5% crit buff but now............ I really hope they change it, I really don't need 5 crit bringers in my stables. :mrgreen:

Don't they keep separate accounts for their chars they play and for their GM accounts anyways? So does it really matter? And Veph is right, no compromising information was given.
