Equeon, I really like your eleboration on my vague "some kind of sea monster"! :D Well thought out. That would be really neat.

And.....Sukurachi.....second cast? I finally got last week after years of fishing. And I fish a lot. For fun and for profit. Ooooh, you lucky dog!

Thx for the replies :)

I just like to be entertained when I do part of a game when I want to relax I log off and go do something else. So when i fish for feasts for my raid I want to have fun doing it. Not sitting there saying 1 more fish for a stack then I can quit this".

I guess I just underestimated how many people use fishing for a chance to do something else.

You're going to need to fish up a ton of Flying Tiger Gourami, Mimic Octopus, or Spinefish Alpha to get that book. Nat's Fishing Journal and his Hat are on a separate "friendship" faction where you need to reach a certain friendship level with Nat Pagle before he'll sell you the book, similar to the friendships you have with individual farmers in Valley of the Four Winds. Those 3 fish are currently the only way to raise said friendship.
ARGH

wait

cant i buy those fish for tokens in halfhill? :)

Else im just gonna go dailys til i hit 600 in skill and then be done with Fishing

2nd cast last night, the turtle mount dropped for me while doing Krasarang fishing daily.

it's a CUTE little sucker! I particularly like its "/mountspecial".
Wait, the sea turtle only drops from fishing in pools and as far as I know, and I'm exalted now with the Anglers, none of the dailies require fishing in pools. In fact I don't think you can get the fish you need from pools.

I also have yet to get that mount.

Not only that, but you can only turn in one of each kind per day.

Actually, I can think of at least two angler dailies that require pool fishing: Scavenger Hunt and Who Knew Fish Liked Eggs? And it was confirmed you could fish up the Sea Turtle from Pools of Blood back in Wrath, so I imagine the same would hold true for quest pools in Pandaria.

But I wouldn't be surprised if you've never seen those quests. I too am exalted with the Angler's, and I'm still waiting to get the Viseclaw Soup quest for the achievement. I've never seen it on my server.

Really? I got that viceclaw daily numerous times but never did get the Scavenger Hunt one. As far as the egg pool one goes, I didn't think that pool would count and there's also the fact that you usually get the goby on the first cast anyway.

Nope, they are only caught by fishing in Pandaria, and only in open waters (meaning you won't find them in pools of fish where your fishing attempts are always successful). And like someone else said, you can only turn in one fish of each type per day.

I do my Angler dailies.. doesn't mean I pass up a chance to fish up some Krasarang Paddlefish! I need those for cooking rep.

Actually, now that I'm finally Exhausted with The Anglers, I think Blizzard missed an opportunity to improve fishing in a very simple way.

The rewards for hitting exalted: a mount (personally, I find it creepy, but whatever), a rod (not much better than the old Kalu'ak rod), a hat, (a tiny bit better than the old fishing hat)...

but they COULD have made one of those items shorten the cast timer to 15 seconds, or even 10 seconds!

imagine the reward for fishing like a madman - let you fish even MORE!?!?

if casting and catching were quicker, I'd be considerably more inclined to continue. as it is, I just do it on the toons that need to level fishing now, and those that need cooking mats.

I think +150 lures are a bit more than a tiny bit better :)

except I have yet to catch "junk" when using my old fishing hat and its +75 fishing lures.
so yes, in the final analysis, it really is barely a "tiny bit better". it's actually unnoticeable.

and the hat is when exalted with whatsisname, Nat Pagle, which is a LONG grind. I'm talking just exalted with the Anglers.
