Tips for leveling?

Unread post by Maizou »

So, I just caught the last pet I can without having Mists, (all of them rare quality, except 5, which are just annoying to find in the first place, and all 5 of those are uncommon quality, not counting the Qiraji Hatchling, obviously, as it's not obtainable yet. :P) and I decided I wanted to start leveling some more pets, since I have no clue when I'll have Mists to start finishing my collection, xD

But I'm having massive issues getting pets to the 20s. Once they're in the 20s, they can usually just solo a full group of 3 pets in Uldum/Hyjal/etc, and level after a few battles each, but getting to 20 stinks. I usually farm some of the battle tamers that are easy to (Hellfire, Deadwind, come to mind), but those are daily, and I need a quicker way to do it. I'm stuck on the Northrend Tamers because my current pets (Fel Flame, Spirit of Competition, Nordrassil Wisp, Sporebat, and Restless Shadeling) are just not enough. I've been working on a Magical Crawdad (now 19), Flayer Youngling (18), and Clockwork Gnome (17), but it's going EXTREMELY slow.

So I was wondering if anyone had any tips?

I don't know if this is a *fast* way of doing it but it's how I've been leveling my pets.

For starters I don't usually bother with the daily quest givers since I don't usually remember that they're there (my bad). I just do regular world pet battles in the higher level areas (Cata level and up). I use a team with: one level 25 pet, one higher level pet around 23 or 24, and one low level pet (I've gone as low as a level 6, the lower the level the higher chance of it being oneshotted). The leveling pet will start the fight and throw out one attack / ability, and then I switch to a level 25 pet. Ideally you want the level 25 pet to die during the battles while taking out as many opponents as possible - if it dies the experience it would have absorbed will now go to the other pet(s) that participated in the battle. The level 23/24 pet can finish off the rest of the fight if needed, or sometimes even the low level one can handle it.

I have done a team with a level 25 and two low levels but that doesn't work so well if you're hoping to catch rares. :D

I find leveling my pets easiest/quickest is in Dragonblight. go to wyrmrest accord, from the stable master head straight out to the pile of bones, theres a bunch of Dragonbone hatchlings, with really fast respawn. And being so close to the stablemaster means quick heals. They are around lv 22. often accompinied by crabs/penguins/rabbits. If you have a high level pet that can use flying moves, these are strong against the penguins/crabs, makes for very fast fights. Also I find I come across A LOT of rare qualitys of these pets.

I generally focus on one pet at a time, but thinking on trying for two at a time since my Nether fearie dragon is lv25 and can usually solo the dragonbone and its companions.
