Okay so. There appear to be like three places total where you can aggro this thing.

And every time me, or the other half dozen hunters surrounding it try, it immediately goes into evade bug mode, then after awhile, it goes on its way.

Is there any actual way to -tame- this bastid? I put in a bug report about its constant evading, but...

if you have a parachute cloak, you can hit it with tranq and fall safely. you can also tag with tranq shot and fall and disengage right before hitting the ground (since spirit is so high up). this worked on PTR, havent tried live.

evade bug is a whole other ball of wax tho...

Edit: There's a lower flying one that you can tame from the ground on spawn. Still, though, that upper one needs fixing.

There's also a ice crystal you can stand on south of The Nexxus, I believe close to where she spawns. Right next to a lower platform. I'll try to a get a pict in a bit. It's basically standing on the tree to get Bantholos back in the day. Even with the high flying Spirit she eventually makes her way right over to you.

Also good tip, I went to the AH and bought the weakest gun I could, level 4. LOL. I kept killing her with my weakest shot even with all my armor, etc off. Frustrating! Anyway with the lower level gun I was able to aggro her over, jump down a ways onto a bit of a ledge on the platform from the ice crystal, and start taming.

She did "evade" during one tame, but then I jumped down further onto the actual ground and had a successful tame! So very exciting and challenging.

Ok hope these work and help someone out. I'm new at adding pictures on the web. (I'm not sure how I get the picts to actually show up in the msg, but they seem to be there to click on. Best I can do. Lol.)

The ice crystal and nearby platform nearby are both SOUTH of Nexxus. So ....in short....grab a weak gun/bow from the AH before you head out, find the ice crystal, perch on said crystal, and patiently wait for her to come gliding into your view. She will be flying easterly on her route past the crystal, so face west, spam your Spirit of the North macro, and in no time at all you'll have her by your side forever.

I just helped someone from the opposite faction get one. I tranq shot it, dropped and feigned death. They proceeded to tame. So glad they finally got it. Just another way you can get this.

I remember testing this pre-patch (obviously not being able to tame it) but yeah, evading was a new thing today. There were other people trolling around for it so I just figured I would just grab a blue snake for now and spend more time figuring the white one out when it's not a hot item.

This pet is actually incredibly easy to get.

Ignore the lower one. It looks easier. It isn't. Head up to the three platforms floating above, stick yourself on the underside rungs of the middle one. KILL the upper spirit as it goes by. It spawns directly on one of these limbs (the one that will have you facing south if you look out from the center) holding it up a few minutes later; drop your freezing trap on the SOUTHERN rung's upward slope about halfway up and wait for it to spawn. Only when it's frozen, tame it. Done! No falling, no damage, no needing to shoot it.

Killing the lower one forces it to spawn within reach straight from the ground as well. It's just a matter of locking down the spawn points, dealing with people thinking you're griefing, and being patient.

My friend just tamed it...we had a prst friend come and slow fall her and she hit the lower flying one and tamed. I hope this was helpful...we didnt do anything special other than use a slow fall.

I tried pulling them but they stay aloft and just stare at me, out of reach. They take damage (not evading). Hmm, maybe I'm just out of luck.

I've been trying the Wowhead version for the top one on an 82, but it never seems to fly close enough for me to attack it to kill. Anyone know where on the middle supports that is?

/stopcast

You'll aggro it and not kill it. When I helped people and did it myself. I found a platform which I could fall to(and live), hit the macro, dropped and tamed. Dunno if that helps or not.

I'm sorry if it's a necro. It's hard to keep track of all the different rules on different forums. I thought, since it wasn't a month old it would be okay.

Thank you for the macro, though. I was hoping to do it without fall damage, I guess it's not possible at this level solo.
