Re: Sunwing...
It's hard to be patient, but compared to some of the other rares (I still have flashbacks to Northrend), a fairly reliable four hour timer seems like a breeze. I'll never understand the rudeness and spitting and bad attitudes when camping en masse. I openly engage and make friends with other campers if I can. I get company, and don't get frustrated if I lose the tame to an anonymous "jerk".
I've been checking in on Sunwing for a few days, mostly drop-ins with a few extended stints of 3+ hour camps, and by dint of this became familiar with some of the other campers and his spawn times. I let a couple of tames go to hunters who had been there first, despite that they were spacing out or alt-tabbed when he spawned and I could have snagged him from under their noses. But good karma goes rewarded, one of the other campers recognized me this morning and said I could jump ahead of her, though she'd been there for a couple hours already.
That said, there was one hunter who "cut" in line and was kind of a brat about it afterwards, but hey. Sheer dumb luck, sometimes.
Protip: If you tame your Sunwing and proceed to actually name it "Sunwing", please don't leave it out while you continue to sit there
For obvious reasons.

Re: Sunwing...
I don't even bring Eclipse (yay, I named hiiiim <3) out without a Sunwing name. I don't ever name my pets after their old names for various reasons. Their NPC IDs will set off triggers as well, no matter what you name them. :/

Always be kind to your pets... or else.

Re: Sunwing...
I sometimes name my pets after their original name cause I like their name but I don't bring them out(not counting the tracking ones cause those dont set NPC Scan off) around their spawn areas.
Re: Sunwing...
I found it both sad and hilarious when I saw a worgen, who lost a tame to a blood elf, proceed to unleash Stampede on the surrounding mobs.
Remember, this is no sprint. The true test of a hunter tests his endurance over the course of a long expedition.
