The Forgiveness
It is supposed to be a five chapter story maybe but I might leave it at this. It is not beta read so it has mistakes and seeing as I speak finnish mostly my english might be a little rough.
So please try to overlook grammar errors.
I have been told that I end my stories with walls not cliffhangers, so do prepare a pack of explosives.
I hope you enjoy the story.
------------------------------------
Summary:
The Lich King has fallen but what of the members of the elusive Ebon Blade?
Follow one story of many, Sinaen Dawngrove is making a important decision on what he is to do, return to his family or to continue under Mograine with the Ebon Blade.
------------------------------------
Heavy hammer hits echoed in the tall halls of the Shadow Vault. Runeforges were still running their blue flames to help the smiths or warriors of the Ebon Blade to carve new runes to their weaponry.
But on this occasion the Vault was mostly empty of it's constant bad mooded personnel, the call had been heard that the Lich King had fallen.
Many of the Ebon Blade had left to join celebration that will be held in sundown on the Argent Tournament grounds, yet some still remained.
One of these was an elf that was leaning against one of the pillars that kept the hall from not falling on it's inhabitants.
Hair bleached white, almost avoid of all dirt but still there were split ends and this told it wasn't that well kept in shape. Not many among the dead would take care of their appearances anymore.
Skin mostly intact but a bit starting to crumble at the sides, he was one of the lucky ones who had kept their mostly youthful looks after joining the damned.
He watched idly as the dwarven smith in front of him slammed the heavy hammer against the blade and another smith leaned on the anvils side ready to carve runes onto it.
"The smith won't forge the blade any faster if you stare at it Sinaen" The sudden voice snapped him out of the trance and by instinct he reached for the blade at his side.
Sinaen looked up to see who dared to intrude his privacy "Koltira Deathweaver...? Shouldn't you be at the Tournament grounds?" he asked and removed his hand from the sword grip.
Koltira raised an eyebrow and the corner of his lip turned to a smirk "Same could be said about you, some say you were quite the party animal back in the day".
A laugh escaped from Sinaen's lips and it echoed amongst the hammer strikes in the hall "You are confusing me with someone else. But to answer your question, I don't enjoy parties" then looking at Koltira for an answer to his question even if he asked first from the other.
"I just didn't feel up to a party" Koltira crossed his arms over his chest.
This made Sinaen glance at Koltira with a hard look, it wasn't possible, yet it didn't surprise him, all of them have changed a lot from their living days.
They had not met or known each other personally but many in Silvermoon did know the local party goers.
A bitter silence fell between the two, remembering the past was not easy. It brought back painful memories of good times.
Maybe a change of subject was in order.
"What will you do now that our foe is gone? Return to your family?" Sinaen felt a bang of annoyance at the question.
"Why are you so interested in me suddenly Koltira? Normally you hardly even blink at me" he hissed at him just to show that the other was pushing his limits.
Koltira slammed his hand against the plated chest and gripping it almost making the metal bend "At least you have SOMEONE alive" Koltira's grip only tightened on the plate.
It was true, his two younger brothers were breathing and living, their mother was too quick-witted of a woman to just up and die anyway. His father had been dead for a long time already, mother always said that he died at the First War or before it.
Koltira's look of rage had calmed down, he was shaking from the course of emotion that went through his body. "I know not of your reasoning why you haven't seen them but shouldn't you?" the question puzzled him, he did not understand why Koltira cared.
Yes he had not spoken to his family, they didn't know he was alive even if this could be called alive. But he had seen them at least, Anotnaar he was easy to find in the libraries of Dalaran and Ninlatt was a teacher of the Arcane despite his young age in Silvermoon.
Rumors said that their mother was in Outland with the Scryer's or with the Shattered Sun on the isles of Quel'thalas.
"Can you pointy-eared corpses pipe it down?! Ye' ain't getting the blades if you don't shut it, both of ye'!" The thick accent of the smith interrupted his thoughts. "Walk with me Koltira" Sinaen removed Koltira's iron grip from his chest plate.
Removing the blade from his side he threw it towards the smith "Remember it's Cinderglacier on that one and Fallen Crusader on the one in the forge already" the dwarf caught the blade with ease "Ye' lad, just get you and your pointy friend out or I am charging extra" the Death knight smith was serious.
It only made Sinaen grasp Koltira's arm and flee "Joy...you made my favorite smith annoyed, if he charges me extra you are paying" after walking out the entrance to the courtyard he let Koltiras arm go "Now explain why the constant questioning".
Koltira looked at him with a serious expression "Highlord Mograine is asking about the one's that will stay with the Ebon Blade. Those who stay will help him clear out the remnants of the Cult of the Damned from Northrend".
The information made him interested "Lord Mograine? But why did you mention my family then?" he looked at Koltira with newly kindled curiosity.
"It's just something I wanted ask, I saw your brother at the festival preparations on the Argent grounds" it didn't surprise him that greatly, Anotnaar enjoyed socializing as many other mages did besides studying.
"Where is Lord Mograine? Also in the festival?" Koltira only nodded in confirming his questions. Sinaen walked towards the makeshift stables to keep the Chargers in good care. His steed Ebonscythe was waiting for him patiently, already sensing that his master was about to ride. Giving his faithful companion a friendly pat on the nose, making the steed push against the hand in respect.
"I will journey to the Argent grounds, I wish to speak with Lord Mograine about this personally" Hoisting himself onto his charger.
"Why don't you fly, you'll be there when the festival has already started" Koltira's question had fallen on deaf ears as the dwarven smith from before was walking towards them, bringing Sinaen his blades, newly fashioned and glowing from the runes.
"Here ya' go lad' take good care of them, they be some' of me' and lil' James finer works just cause you are a regular" The dwarven smith beamed with pride at his work. "It truly speaks of your handwork, I am grateful" The elf took a pouch from the steeds saddlebags "How much do I owe you?" opening the pouch and ready to pay.
"Twenty five gold pieces each' lad" A look a surprise went on with Sinaen's face "Normally you aren't this generous, why the good gesture all of the sudden...not that I am to complain..".
The dead smiths bearded face had a rare smile on it "I'm just feeling good and you are a regular laddie' and these swords seem to scream to be with ya' lad" the smith answered as the elf leaned down on the charger to pass the golden coins to the dwarfs waiting hand.
Screaming for him? He wondered about the smiths sudden good mood as the blades gleamed in his hands.
Sinaen strapped the blades to his sides patting each blade to make sure they didn't come loose from the holdings. Ebonscythe under him strutted in place a bit to get accustomed with the feeling of the blades on his sides.
Grasping the reins of his steed, Sinaen steered it towards the exit to the Shadowvault. The charger speeded off in a gentle trot and Sinaen was gone before Koltira could say a word. "Let him be lad' he has to think about ya' words they made it harder for him to choose a side" The smith spoke to Koltira who watched the spot where Sinaen had stood.
"Yes...I suppose he is fine on his own" With those words Koltira turned to walk back into the Shadow Vault.

Re: The Forgiveness
Here's a sneak peak to the second chapter.
This chapter has a guest star from our own EU Petopians guild! I haven't told this person that the character will be added. Let's see if you can guess who it is.
For those who want to know the chapter is half done or so. The part I am posting is not containing of spoilers but gives you a sneak peek to the character that Sinaen encounters.
----------------------------------
Looking onward there seemed to be a figures ahead. One of them who seemed the leader sat on top of a horse and other smaller creatures that could even be Kobold's walked besides the rider.
As they neared Sinaen started to make out the closing figures more and maybe he unknowingly to himself did know what the rider was.
The leading rider was riding a Death Charger like himself and the creatures that he thought were Kobold's could now be seen clearly actually a big pack of ghouls, this clearly stated that the Death knight in front of him was a master of the Unholy arts.
Unholy Death knights were the masters of death and decay, also of controlling the undead. All of them learned the basics control method but the time to maintain them was always short unless it was a single ghoul.
Scourge were not known for taking this track but he heard rumors from tradesmen that there was a cultist camp up north towards the Argent Crusade's settlement.

Gonna have to take a raincheck on that Sat, seeing as my school is pressing on. But I left it about 50% done so I just need a jump start into writing.Saturo wrote:*Raise Dead*
